Pushing Soldiers To The Limit | Forces TV

It is one of the most demanding physical tests in the British Army - designed to push soldiers to their limits. Anyone wishing to serve with Airborne Forces must pass P Company selection to earn their maroon beret and start the Parachute Course. At the Infantry Training School in Catterick, Normandy Platoon are the latest to face the challenge.

Thats a lick out. Hats off to this arduous course. There is no way i could do that, mentally and physically, its tough, but i know my barriers, and i know that id be setting up for a fail, and theres no way id put myself into that posistion. Well done lads, maximum effort.

Eight years is literally the fastest anyone could make Sergeant (4 years of reports as Private and Corporal), there are a couple of ways of cutting this time by a year or so but it's a rarity.

I went through in 1989, and contrary to popular belief, I don’t remember the Log Race at all. The 18 mile approach march after the bus ride from Aldershot was the hardest event for me.

I always thought that they were given their maroon berets after they had finished parachute jump training too, but it looks to be not the case it seems

If you pass P coy but fail your parachute course you cannot serve with an airborne unit .But can transfer to another regiment ...

I was at the wedding of a mates Para son in '19, one of his Ushers was an Anglian ... they'd gone through Depot together and this lad had refused in the door on his 3rd jump and been binned from Para Reg!

Should have a patch behind the badge,then no 1 parachute school.pass jumps course then wings are awarded patch removed.but I done it in 85

Five from thirty-two initial candidates who entered P Co.? I thought that I noticed more maroon berets at the end, and that seems like a very low percentage, even for an elite program such as the one presented here.

But in week 31 of their training they experience all of the final commando tests, a week similar to p company, and the final test is a 30 miler across dartmoor to be completed in about 7 hours

Them stretchers are made from scaffolding poles and track pads, beleive me its like giving a grown man with full battle rattle on a ride
