We have a ton of room for greater progress in the correct sizing of equipment, quality ducts, quality installation, and maintenance education. These elements have huge impacts on real-world efficiency. Equipment control logics in dynamic part-load conditions are also wide ranging from good to very poor.

Maybe future is for low temp absorption chiller paired with water heating solar panels. Also the PV panels can be cooled down with water , which will improve their efficiency , and produce waste hot water , which again can be used on low temp absorption chiller. I don’t see much development in that area. That will reduce a lot of energy use in Florida, the hotter it gets the cooler the water. I am thinking about that for few years , but it will require a lot of researches and lab work.
