Fun fact, i read Christina Applegate replaced Reese Witherspoon as a different sister for Rachel in later series. The producers wanted Reese Witherspoon to come back as the same sister but Witherspoon couldn’t make it because of schedule conflict if im not mistaken. Both sisters were great but didn’t made sense that Rachel can have two of the same personality bratty sister.

In my culture, things are pretty incredibly organized. I'm mean not only we cut off from our lives if they have badly hurt one of our sibling but also make sure that they don't get anywhere near to our sibling.. No fake positivity or unnecessary negativity is entertained. Lot of time, love & energy is saved..

Not really in every culture its the same, people rarely stays friends after break up. But sometime you cant cut them from life, like if they are colleagues or business partners or anything else where you have to them every day. That is what we see here rachel was roommate of ross’s sister. So Monica cant kick her best friend just because of breakup. And ross wont stop seeing her sister. So they have to stay friends. Thats why the saying is don’t date your friends. And other thing you make sure they dont come near your sibling, but what if your sibling goes near him(as we saw in friends )
