Always been a big fan of Jake as I’ve followed motocross for as long as I can remember. Always have a great memory of Jake at Hawkstone Park I think it may have been the year before he went to Jacky Martin’s team. He was about to line up for a moto and being a young lad I wanted his autograph, so I asked him which he was happy to do but my pen stopped working. He said “come back to the camper after the race and I’ve got a pen” So literally after the moto I walked to the paddock and to his camper, he recognised me instantly & grabbed a pen and signed my program. And I just thought that really showed his character, he wasn’t like the likes of a lot pro riders who hid away, or felt like getting a photo or a autograph is a pain.
