Watching Menzies in that Gould reminds me of a car I saw there years ago. Single seater with either a 415t or a 420R with a turbo on it. Out of Pardon it didn’t accelerate so much as teleport form one corner to the next. Love it.

It would be interesting what they thought of the UK hills. UK drivers have competed at the Hillclimb Masters a few times - so sad that another edition of that isn't planned. It was a great way to end the season.

I've noticed that all cars have a little vertical fin at the front. Could this be related to the timing beam ?

Yes. It ensures it is the same part of the car that breaks each of the beams and keeps the timing fair.
