Thats right, the current NIO chargers in China (i guess technical the same) are limited. Because the charging speed is still not a big topic in China. Just since the European market start, NIO has started to focus more and more on charging speed. Now we saw 500kW charging pile’s beside the new PSS V3. For the future NIO has some more arrows in their quiver. Also 800V batteries which could be used to charging with 800V but 400V in driving mode. ⚡️🔋🏁

The ET5 has a better ride quality than both the Model Y and Model 3. Especially when it comes to the performance versions. Model 3 Long range is the one that comes closest.

There is a 10km buffer which is proofed with ES8 and ET7 with 100kWh batteries 🔋 The only thing is acceleration will goes down step by step ⚡️🔋🏁 Great video, thanks for sharing 👍🙏

Finally NIO came to understaning that they need to sell to a broader consumers market and this model nailed it. Bellow 50K Eur premium sedan, looks sporty and elegant, faster than regular Porsche Panamera that needs 4,4 seconds to 100 KMh and this thing needs only 4s. Cosidering looks, comfort and technology all this for price that average buyer can afford this should be the best seller. Why one would buy Porsche for 200k eur that is slower than NIO? and you need to pay the fuel

Didn't know the limitations of nios own charger. If I did I would have charged it a ionity or a Supercharger instead. But the charging curve looks good!

I love the NIO. My Model 3 has interior rattle noise. It is such a nuisance. I also normally get between 78% and 82% of claimed range only for the Model 3. The Model 3 is not stellar and its Autopilot is not reliable as of 2023. It suddenly slammed on its brakes when I was on the left most lane (the fastest lane in USA) and there was a car in the second right lane slowing down due to merge lane ahead. It has nothing to do with my leftmost fastest lane, but the Model 3 still slammed its brake. The autopilot is also not reliable in rainy or foggy conditions. The side cameras have tendency to be "blocked, and autopilot is disabled" message comes on screen quite often. Tesla needs to spend some money and put some nice radar sensors and LiDAR too, besides the cameras on a Tesla is only 2 mega-pixels, NIO is already using 8 mega-pixels. Tesla cars are cheap for a reason. After owning one for about a year, I am not as impressed as some KZbinrs want me to be.

Teslas being cheaper will certainly result in lower quantity. I am still curious why people in China are still buying Tesla instead of a NIO for a similar price. NIO may need to improve software performance but there are still lots of software issues with Teslas. But if you think about it, all software has bugs including Apple phones.

@@anvoong2510 because in china , they are at different price level . Ppl normally buy Tesla model 3 entry level at 230k RMB , ET5 at 350k RMB level . That is around 17k USD difference

I wonder if the NIO is actually a similar price? I don't think comparing the base model Tesla is fair - this car has more options and performance - so maybe comparing to the Long Range or Performance is more accurate. I looked up the prices in Sweden according to the Tesla and NIO configurators the NIO 75Kwh with battery is 686k Kr - The Model 3 Long Range (base configuration) is 588k Kr and Performance is 623k Kr. I don't know if this is like-for like (e.g. if this is what you pay to drive it away so to speak for both the NIO and Teslas) in both cases - Perhaps our Swedish hosts could confirm. It looks like on paper just based on performance level (not the only measure I know) the NIO sits between the 2 tesla models performance and maybe range wise but is 10% more than the performance model Tesla.

I would compare it to a model 3 performance with enhanced autopilot. Nios self driving functions that's standard handles autopark and lane change. With that setup the Tesla costs 671k SEK compared to the Nio ET5 75kwh 686k SEK. So thr same ball park.

it is more truthful than the tesla model y long range. i seen 3 videos already of it getting around 280 miles from the 330 miles claimed or it is getting 85% of what tesla claim, driving at 70mph average. if nio is getting 88% thats great. would take this over model 3 any day of the year

Thanks for an awesome test. This means that the et5 should get over 800km of real world range now with the 150kwh pack. There is news today that the 150kwh pack has entered mass production and the plan is to have 1000 pack produced in 2023.

Yes, you will probably be able to come close to 800, but the car gets heavier and the consumption will get higher with the 159kW battery. Price will be sick with that battery pack. I think think the 100kW pack will be the best choise with more than enough range. Thank you for watching. 🙂

@@ItsOnlyElectric Actually the weight will stay more or less the same because the new battery is semi solid state with a density of 360wh/kg. This 75kwh pack is a mixture of NMC and LFP so it it really heavy. I hope they make a small 50kwh pack with the case made out of carbon fiber that can be used to make the car really light for use at trackdays. You have one swapstation right next to the Mantorp Park.😎

A track pack would be awsome! The 150 pack will unfortunately be way to expensive, at least the first couple of years. They say it will cost as much as the et5 itself.

The reason NIO made their charging the slow is to force you to battery swap. More money! NIO RECHARGES those batteries at night when rates are cheapest!

@@adedomini The ET5 has a low drag coefficient so it will manage higher speeds well. But all electric cars will suffer big range loss in that speeds. Expect aound 300km of range with the smaller 75kWh.

I almost always perform the trip without any stop since time is always a scarce resource and I can relax once I get home. For me it is a must to find a car that can perform at last 320/330 km with one charge at around 130km/h, otherwise I will keep my ICE car that works just perfectly. I was looking at the Tesla 3 but the range (always at 130km/h) is also around 300km probably the only option for me is the Model 3 Dual Motor that should be around 350km or wait for the ET5 with 100kWh but probably is going to be more expensive.
