When i think of 'trail bikes,' I imagine something closer to 130/140 travel rather than enduro measurements.

I tend use the term ‘trail bike’ loosely, but I would say that’s fair 🤙🏻

I appreciate your willingness to experiment with bike sizes and geometry. I am the same size 5-11 (180lbs) and come from BMX. I am always gravitating toward the smaller size frames, regardless of category. Since about 2013 (when Mondraker came out with its longer forward center geometry) until around 2018 the progression in this area was reasonable but since then it has gotten out of hand in my opinion. Bikes are bikes, they are light and they dance around so you need skills/technique to make them work. Thats the reality. To me since 2018 the bikes have gotten so big as to attempt to somehow get the bike to do the work for the rider. It’s just doesn’t work like that. An oversized bike takes a lot more physical effort to ride aggressively, too much so. Which in turn actually slows the progression of a new rider to gain skills. I guess the bike industry was trying to gain more customers by attracting them to bikes that can get them into terrain they would otherwise not be ready for. In hindsight we can all see now that that wasn’t a good game plan. I hope sizing and geo return to normal again; for all stakeholders.

Totally agree that a bigger bike can get riders into terrain that they not ready for, thanks for watching the video 👊🏼

From the new bikes I’ve seen 433 chainstays are pretty standard now. Just bought a new freeride bike with 424 chainstays (435 reach). Manuals and 360 are feeling super good so far.

Canyon torque 27.5 in size S. Unfortunately, because everyone is buying 29ers they only have one configuration, but it fit my low budget perfectly.

That terrain is amazing. Any recommendations on spots to hit out in that area? I would love to make it out there and ride some ridges, but I wouldn't know where to start

Silly question, but being 5’11, why would a small be your size of choice, especially if the short wheelbase is a con. Just curious as I’ve been looking at wheelbases on different bikes. Super rad riding , thank you!

So I'm looking at getting a mullet bike for my next bike and curious on how you compare the SB165 and Ibis HD6. Understanding that this Slopeduro setup is a different setup than the HD6 you setup.

To be honest given how different I have the two builds, I don’t really have a good sense of how one rides compared to the other. That said, they are both great bikes and ride well. Overall though, the biggest standout feature of them is their exceptional build quality and attention to detail 🤘🏼
