he should release the brakes, and mark it, then put the brakes on, meaning pull out the service and emergency plugs. Full braking pressure. The pushrod will push further to force the s cam to turn the brakes against the drums. So you need full pressure, full braking pressure. The MTO uses this when they crawl under your truck. As if there going to trust you, for holding your foot or some brake stick. Good video, any video teaching knowledge is great, and teaching the brake tool. The real professionals use a go and no go gauge to measure the brake show thickness. No trucking company will let you check their pushrod strokes everyday, you have 15minutes to get on the road or your fired.

I'm going for my Air Brakes License at the end of July. I noticed there were a few things in this video that wasn't done correctly. I'm not even a professionally or have my Air Brakes License yet and I actually see the mistakes that was done, on the real Practical exam test they would fail you automatically. Brake Adjustment measurement is the main most important part of the Practical exam, if it's not done correctly you just lost $400 in school and you'll have to take the course all over again.
