The reward points reminds me of Nintendo’s reward program, except through PlayStation stars it will require more digital purchases to earn as much funds/points to buy a tiny selection digital games or store credit. It’s better than nothing, but I was hoping for more ways to earn points than buying digital games.

The weird part about it is "Buy full price games", which sounds like you get penalised when you buy games on sale like a normal person! (It's also not fair to be expected to buy levels, and particularly unfair to people with less money - it'd be much better if you earned points by simply PLAYING games, which would be a nice reason to replay through your entire catalogue and maybe play things you own but never got round to playing or installing before! Right now though, that part is just predatory! 😯) It then doesn't seem to take into account our past "achievements", so particularly since PSN launched in 2007 and trophies launched in 2008, all that we've done seems to count for nothing! The various "campaigns" then appear to be very niche and specific, as are the rewards... I just "signed up" today and I only see four campaigns, two that are completed by playing any game - thanks I guess!... While the others are painfully specific, "Buy five indie games you've never heard of and don't care about!" And "Play these exact four fighting games", again none of which I own... Why not, "Play any three fighting games", then Dead or Alive 5, Soul Calibur 5 and Injustice 2 for example would count! 😯 . Even IF you earn a lot of points and cash them in, it seems you can only buy four games which they've picked!! So far it doesn't impress me and does nothing for me 😯😂😀🤘

Do they have to be full price games? In the tiers it says "full games" so you'd think sales count. Just as long as it's not only a demo or a DLC you should be good. Otherwise, I'm not too suprised how the service works. Just sounds like an artificial way to keep player engagement up.

Personally I love the idea of a rewards program especially considering it’s free. I signed up a month ago and I’ve already redeemed some credit. It’s honestly better than what Nintendo does because when you buy like an 60 dollar game on the eshop they give you like 1.50$ back. Honestly though one way they could hugely improve is give you rewards for trophies. Or at least reward you for trophies if you’re a extra/premium subscription member. Look I’m not saying they got to do it for bronze trophies but at least silver gold and platinum ones. That would make it a lot more fun. Like silver was 10 points, gold maybe 50 and platinum could be 100 points. But other then that I was pleasantly surprised to get a ps5 and find out I can get rewarded for using the console

Actually Nintendo's is better. The amount of points it takes to rack up to be able to buy the select 5 games in the PlayStation stars is pretty dismal. At least with Nintendo Points it equates to dollars, which you can spend towards any purchase lol. Not just a digital collectible and the one or two digital games that you either already have or don't want? And only a few are the same price. But it is better than not having it. I just think in comparison it's pretty obvious which one is better lol. Especially as the tier system does nothing except for the final tier gets you a little bit better support from Sony on the phone. Lol. Yay? 😅😂

I’d definitely recommend anyone with disc drive to use GameFly especially around this time when it’s bigger solo player games releasing. Buying these 70$ quick games like quarry, tlou again,horizon even the upcoming titles like Gotham knight plaque tales and god of war ragnorak. The replay value is a lot lower in them all. With One month of two games a time will get you at least 4-6 games completed for the price of a third of 1 game ( without the free trial) . I only purchase my sports game because i play those way more

Personally, I love this new rewards program. I play games daily and feel overlooked as a gamer considering how dedicated I am. The reward system will fill this void. I also purchase a crap load of games(almost all ps5 titles). Rewards is a plus!

I couldn't care less about the collectibles but the points to £££ sounds interesting. With Xbox quests there are many types. The main ones I do are the monthly ones that are normal play this video, play that game, earn an achievement or the like. Are PS Stars like this? Are there examples of the amount of points you get for their challenges? If it's just from buying stuff then it sounds like it will take a long time to get £10, £20.

@@devozity4546 To me the logical thing to do is to "convert" these to X number of points so everyone could be happy. I get that the idea with the trophies is to have something to brag about but, in the context of something like this, it makes you feel kind-a screwed up if all of your effort until now is ignored and everyone start from scratch. I have 12 platinums, btw but I know people with way more than that. Will see how it'll go - I hope Sony will be wise. If not in the beginning, at least at some point :D

You will have to buy a game to actually collect the points. However, buying your monthly or yearly membership of PS Plus will also count. Any money spent through the store will add to your Stars profile. - Aaron
