So the villain, Big Jack Horner, is derived from an old English nursery rhyme: _Little Jack Horner, sat in a corner, eating a Christmas pie._ _He stuck in his thumb, and pulled out a plum, and said "What a good boy am I!"_ That's it. That's the entire poem. They modified it slightly for his little flashback. Personally, I like to think that everyone got their wish, including Jack Horner in the most karmic way possible: he gets to BE the new Wishing Star, with "all the magic in the world". It only cost him his life....
