What I interpreted, when I hear 'say a singer's prayer for salvation ' , was not to just "pray as a sinner and just like that---salvation". "Sinners prayer" is a repentance from a broken heart. A desire to turn your ways and come back to our Father. A softened heart that yearns and cries for Jesus. This will LEAD to salvation eventually yes? I don't think it's a blatant lie. Jesus wants us to come back to him, to repent, ask forgiveness, change our ways, restart our lives wherever in life we may be. That's why Jesus Christ is our Saviour. A sincere, heart felt 'sinners prayer' will eventually lead you back to Our Father. After surrendering, you begin to live your life right, which can lead to salvation. All it is, is repentance and following His commandments from then on. Nothing malicious about that
