What a great music hall song--never heard it before---love it. The sound of this acoustic recording is superb. 1909 was the year my father was born. Very many thanks for sharing.

Glad you enjoyed it! This song is a new discovery to me, too--I got it in a lot a year or two ago, but apparently never listened to it until I was going through some of my less-played records a few weeks ago. Early Victors do sometimes seem to sound better than their later acoustics from the 'teens and '20s--I think I read at some point that it was something to do with the recording diaphragm.

Great sound. Acoustic recordings are difficult to reproduce and the choral section and orchestral backing are remarkably clear on this playback. I am curious about your homemade horns. If you have made a video about them, i would like the link -- and if you haven't, please tell us more.
