Hello! I've been a professional seaman working on a variety of ships all over the world, including larger passengerboats, for the past 15 years. For about ten of those years I've been a designated smokediver with special security duties and have been in real situations where theres been a fire / other crisises onboard a ship. The past two years I've been working a second job as Assistant Instructor teaching fire safety at sea and running fullscale drills. Think the thing with cruises is when they go wrong, it’s catastrophic, never mind that more people probably get sick or die on non-cruise holidays, even accounting for the proportional difference.
