So what was the button for? Or only the pull out parts are needed to solve?

@aarrodri I'm purely guessing here, but I assume that by rotating the dial, something was moved out of the way to let the center rotate. The button being pressed in further was just to indicate that the dial was in the correct position.

The button was one of three locks acting on the center part. The dial prevents the button from pushing unless set correctly.

I feel like the clue was in those symbols. Did the two sides that pulled out have the same symbol as the one that turned? Maybe I’m thinking too much about it 😂
