As for the others, well in all of Scandinavia and the Baltics, the will to defend and to spend on defence is high, it's the politicians that are letting the side down, as usual. Many in these countries have been SCREAMING for both their own countries and especially the EU to do more for a very long time now. I would know, because I am from one of these countries. That said, the centre of gravity in the EU has, with these developments, clearly shifted eastwards and northwards, which is hardly something to be mourned. If there's anything the EU doesn't need more of it's Western European naivete and appeasement. I am not exactly an optimist and even I am dumbfounded by just how many of the signs of interwar Europe have been present since 2008, with the invasion of Georgia, with the Western European countries taking EXACTLY the same stances as in the 1930s. Have you learnt LITERALLY nothing?!

But the USA is especially bad at it since its efforts so often result in outbreaks of the most horrific violence - which isn't actually the idea. The idea is to establish economic control over other countries by a gradual takeover of its political system.
