You do realize, that It's not Zelensky asking for money that is the issue. It's that NATO is intentionally paying Ukraine to not fight back. NATO could have allowed Ukraine to fire back at Russians, and then Ukraine could've taken out Russian artillery years ago. Instead NATO gives them money, under the 1 condition that Ukraine was never allowed to fire back at Russian artillery, they had to simply take the money and accept that they would be receiving 100-300+ explosions in their cities every single day. If NATO on day 1 of the war, had instantly incorporated Ukraine into NATO, and sent over their military. This whole war could've been ended in a single week. Instead It was NATO's decision, to pay Ukraine to not fight back, so they could all pervertedly watch the war for years.

Once this war is over, Many will come realise that Ukraine lost millions and eventually ended up with 20% territory less. While it will acknowledge that the Russians lost a significant amount of force, but came out of this conflict even strong, shook the western hypocracy based order, and with territory and millions of new citizens as a bonus, thousands of miles of new coastline with ports. What Ukraine got out of this conflict? Any sane leader like Yanukovich in 2014 would simply have declared Neutrality and saved so many lives and preserved all of Ukraine. Yes, it might not be in the very best interest in terms of economics and all, but it's all in good interest of any leader to save lives and have basic survival instincts. The history will treat Putin and the fallen Russian soldiers kindly for they did not forsake the common people they cared about and did not wage war like the Israelis.
