While the world has been focused on Ukraine, Vladimir Putin has been making silent moves across Africa using a secret Russian paramilitary organisation called Wagner Group. Their malicious presence is not just on the ground, it’s also spreading like wildfire across the internet.

As an African , I agree with this video, however it lacks a lot of context. You point out the French presence however the adoption and love of Russia in Africa is fueled by the failures and imperialist tendencies of the West . Africans really hate the west and will take any alternative. The history of the west have nothing positive not saying Russia in Africa is positive .

The difference between the west and Russia is that Instead of the west to do the job they were brought to do they don’t do it they go straight for the resources Unlike Russia that actually does the job then go for the resources The people of the Central African Republic are in love with the Russians for the peace and stability they have brought to their country after almost 20-30 years of instability and turmoil in the country.

The EU imports 40% of Sub-Saharan Africa's agricultural exports (source: euractiv section [agriculture-food/news[eu-s-food-imports-pose-tricky-balance-for-hungry-africans) This makes local home grown sub saharan farms broke as they cannot compete with the cheap eu agriculture prices. The major blow is the collective west as they only ever posture about human rights and do their best to be perceived as benign while having zero desire to strive fro benevolence of/for anything, just their own personal gains like anyone else on the planet.

I mean this in the nicest way possible - seeing a KZbin channel with a content quality : views ratio like yours is incredibly discouraging for anyone thinking of starting their own channel. I couldn’t fathom putting in the work you guys do and having the content output quality at the level you’re at for that low a return on investment, I know luck and volume output is part of the success formula but it’s unironically a tad horrifying to anyone with dreams of making it on YT seeing these videos perform in the way they do… Survivorship bias has absolutely decimated my perception of this platform and growth on KZbin. Holy fucking shit.

Nice to see a new channel that I know we'll see grow! Russian arms are incredibly ubiquitous in Africa and build on the legacy of the Soviets arms exports. Plus Russia really only has arms and resources as export industries. It can be easier to focus on Chinese, European, and American arms transfers cos they're relatively easy to spot. Hinds, Soviet pattern small arms, BMPs etc are so common a lot of media doesn't notice when more of the same appear somewhere in Africa.

Andy (and the rest of the team) just for transparencies sake, you can not say USA is accountable of its weapons when they literally have a history not doing that a great current example is Saudi Arabia and UAE and what they are doing in Yemen. Furthermore since you are talking about mercenaries and how bad Wagner is (which honestly I completely agree with what you said about them) don't forget about Blackwater Company and what they did in Iraq aswell as how even after they got convicted still received contracts from US government agencies. Germany has Asgaard which done embezzlement as well literally being convicted of "suspicion of founding a terrorist organization". The UK had Aegis Defence Services, you should research that one (specifically the "trophy" video), Erinys International (allogations of torture of prisoners). These are the once we know of , most of the crimes these companies got away with it and in fact most of those companies still operate in one form or the other. All of this happened at the same time in Iraq. This practise of mercenaries in modern day wars and their mindless violence is a very western thing, in fact you can even say the west did it first then russia followed. Of cource the western countries wouldn't publicly admit all of this but there are plenty of cracks people can see through. Nevertheless Brilliant video, only discovered your channel very recently. Also these are Video ideas/titels that would be nice to see because I find your style of presenting quite refreshing from the other channels; "The truth behind the war on terror", "The real Arab Spring" (essentially about what actually happened, I find the western view is very positive about it when in reality it is not that great of a time), "Why is Scandinavia so great?" and (finally) "The British Empire is worse then you think" (many people don't know the extent of how bad it was especially numbers regarding the topic or fun facts like the British concetration camps, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Boer_War_concentration_camps)(sorry for the wiki-link but it is a good starter) P.S. Correct me if I am wrong didn't the US/UK exploit the Middle East just like Russia is doing in Africa? Also isn't it ironic that you mentioned something along the lines of "all they want is stability", aren't the Libyans and Iraqis begging for it from the west (but they didn't listen) and didn't putin provide that stability to Syria after he took control?

As an Indian, the Russian problem with Africa exists here in India too. Russia is a major defence exporter as well as helped India against its wars with Pakistan. Also people support Russia as Russians have used their veto power to support India and have been a reliable partner in international geopolitics. Because of this Russia does not need any propaganda nor PR in India as Pro Russians stance have been opted by Indians from their childhood.
@simulify8726
@simulify8726 Жыл бұрын
The reason Indians are pro Russians is because US was basically arming a dictatorship disguised as democracy country, Pakistan. They even gone as far as not condemning the Bangladesh genocide and wanted to defeat India with Pakistan together. And since this was cold war, USSR sent it's nuke submarines to Indian Ocean and since then people developed a soft spot for Russia. And yeah, KGB infiltrated a lot of Indian institutions during Indira's Reign, hence Maoist parties and Naxalism

one thing to note is that a country that's North of Mali there has been a Massive supporter and logistical provider for the French army in relation to their operations and i think i can guess which country i am referring to , in most anglophone sources the mention of Russian and this country's cooperation i.e the second biggest army in the continent of africa was slim as a mention , to add the post 2019 instability and factional wars between these generals led to have a very much schizophrenic foreign policy , whereby we see Pro russian support as well as pro french and even changing the constitution to allow for the army to intervene with the French military in 2020 constitutional referendum (which was fraudelent). Although the video is mostly correct it has to note that russian propaganda in this country we are talking about (which i am not mentioning for security reasons) is rather less present then you think , the media of this country is resilient because of it's monopoly of power and not much else , while pro russian sentiment population wise is singnificantly doubted for this country , what remains true however is that foreign policy for this country remains pro russian , not only because of the pro russian allegiances of some of it's generals but also because of it's huge reliance on russian imports when it comes to weaponry as a whole and logistical capability . Note: i hope this comment would be seen , if so , i apologize for not mentioning the country because i want to protect myself but the guess should be obvious and easy 🙏

This is a video of utter political nonsense, it doesn't scratch the surface of the Affrican problem and just states that one party is bad , even with things that aren't bad like nuclear power plants. It could of explored the destabilization of these regions by developed countries the effects of neocoloniolizam and more, but it seems to be a shallow report on what is politically relevant in western countries and not an honest discussion of the problems faced by the continent.

As Ethiopian 🇪🇹 I support Russia 🇷🇺 because they stand with us while the west was support terrorist groups & separatists. I don't blame you for not telling the truth because you are exposed to mainstream media. Some of the photos you've showed are people rally for putin and willingness to fight beside Russia 🇷🇺.

I respect your stance, but both sides have equally influenced terrorist groups, however the US notably exacerbated the terrorist problems, while Russia is sending its own mercenary group which even though is fighting terrorists, is preforming terror activities in Ukraine, so I’d say both are equal on the hypothetical terrorist problem scale

@@yourlocalfloridaman6251 The Russians are fighting the terrorist groups in Africa. The Americans and its Saudi puppets fund the terrorist groups. That’s the difference.

Russia and America are so similar it’s hard to tell them apart. Both countries have white majority populations, both are hyper capitalist with huge wealth gaps, Christian fundamentalists run the governments of both of them, both got rich from transcontinental empires blessed with navigable rivers and arable land and fossil fuels, both have huge marginalized minority groups, both have the largest nuclear stockpiles in the world, both used to have more colonies that they now regret losing, and both are actively engaged in neocolonialism all over the Global South. They might actually BE the same country, which I shall now call the United Federation of Amerussica.

This is a very biased video... It mostly glosses over the fact that russia is doing exactly what USA and EU have done to countries in Africa. USA only refuses to sell arms when it is not their interest, it has nothing to do with human rights (Saudi Arabia VS Yemen). Doesn't it seem suspicious that whenever US interests arrise in an area, Islamic State appears (Syria, Afghanistan, Libya and now Mozambique). There are no innocents here.... France still to this day prints the money and controlls the currency of the French speaking African Countries. USA uses their might to get resources out of Africa. Africa has taken a neutral stand in this war... Like they have done on so many wars USA and EU have created. They are bullying Africa into imposing sanctions.

Sad to see this happening. Before China and Russia came to Africa, Africa was such a peaceful place. Western countries must work together and educate the poor African countries and convert them to the good side or else they know the consequences. Nobody would want to be the next Libya. Sad to see some African countries choosing the wrong side. Europe have even help protect Africas must valuable and spiritual artifacts in Europeans museums and this is how Africa repays Europe. Shameful.
