I think you mean 'spark' plugs🤣 Insulation tape probably won't be good enough to avoid a misfire from the damaged boot. Those new seals don't seal around the coil packs, they seal between the plug well tubes and the valve cover, you need to remove the valve covers to install the new seals. The oil sits around the hex of the spark plug, it only gets on the threads as you unscrew the plugs, oil can't get past the sealing washer unless the plugs are loose. Good luck with the rear plugs.
