When i was 13 in 2001, I was always dreaming of owning a proton putra or satria gti. But I'm proud to own a waja campro as my first car in 2012, still keeping it happily.

The late Jins Shamsuddin once drove a Proton Putra. Not sure if he actually owned it. But at one time I saw him drove it to pick up his son from school (his son went to the same school as me). If he actually owned it, and the car still exists and in stock condition, I can imagine the value of that car to some. 🙂

Satria GTi was also sold in Europe, but name is different. If not mistaken Its Proton Compact GTi or Proton 218GTi

I had the Putra, was a pretty nice car to drive but I heard the models after 1999 had less power because it used the Bosh instead of Mitsubishi efi. Not sure if it is true. I think the rims are ori, ori for Putra was 14 inch and GTI was 16 inch. EDIT: Sorry that was not the original rims and the Recaro seats also looks like the one you got on the GTI.

I think the Preve looks better if it was a 3 box design rather than a 2.5 box. The rear end is too short which looks weird from some angles.

Hardly see a putra on the road today. It is not the original rims. The original rims are the same as Proton Tiang Gol.

Honestly what was Proton thinking with the Putra back then? Their product lineup then was a big mishmash, really. You have 1.3, 1.5, 1.6 and 1.8 Wira petrol in sedan & hatch, then you have the Putra, basically the Wira coupe, and then the Satria GTI, which is NOT a Wira.

The Putra door cards and seats aren't original also. I think they're from the Satria gti just like the rims 😅

The alloy rims in Putra are not original. The original should be either a 14 inch AAC (1st batch) or 14 inch normal rims (2nd batch). Then later batches also came with different rims design, but still in 14 inch

@@ChrisWeevilGarage yes my plan is to make the car 100% stock. I even managed to found a NOS USPD door visor and Putra’s front bumper lips, although I haven’t put it on the car yet. Oh ya, I also have the Putra’s user manual book and Blaunpunkt manual book, still in mint condition
