I knew Liz Dawn,we drank together in the upstairs bar of the Rembrandt in Manchester. She was wild,funny and so lovable. She loved her gay friends. One day we were leaving the Rembrandt together and a guy shouted ‘queer’ at me. She went over and knocked ten bells of shit out of him. I loved you Lizzie R.I.P my sweet friend❤️🌈

Other than Les Dawson,Lily was absolutely brilliant as Host of Blankety Blank.I imagine the studio audience needed 2 days off,one to sit through the actual filming & the other to get over it. And how poignant to see Jill Dando on an episode featuring the appeal for medical aid to Kosovo considering that one theory about who murdered her was that it was an assassin on the orders of Milosovic after the bombing of a tv station in Belgrade.

Watching this in 2024 when humour is so much less acceptable than when it was in 1998. Am from a Scouse family and it really makes me yearn for a time when we could all have a good laugh together.
