Good video bro! I remember back in the day we were working on a buddy's car. Starter went out and my buddy's Dad pull that starter out and I'll show you something. So he took the motor apart and showed us we can clean the armature with a pencil eraser is what he use. That starter worked for years after that. Lol

Years ago i burnt out a motor..thought wear a tear. Put a new one in. First hit . Arced out blew a hole in the cap. Turned out the battery cable was sitting in oil in the trunk. Swelled up. I took the motors apart. Armature was destroyed by the brushes. Put that in my Drill press aka. Sketchy lathe. And held some 80g sandpaper to.then finer to the copper. New brushes. Both motor work again. Thanks for video.

Great video Dan! Off topic question though, what happened to the Oldsmobile with the wrapped frame? You doing to bring that back as a hopper?

Do you recommend putting heat shrink on the rods holding the motor together?

I remember back in the days the motors would be burning hot to the touch after cruising all night. Those days are gone...

We have rode in some parades and by the end you could smell the motors inside the car and they would burn you if you touched them
