Putting a patient in a scoop stretcher using the pelvic binder and head blocks.

This video which demonstrates putting the new pelvic splint on in conjunction with the new head blocks. Both of these products will be introduced over the next month and the current head blocks, base pad and Sam splints will then be removed from service.

That circular cut out in the top portion of the scoop is to landmark the patient’s head, giving you the ability to secure the scoop around the patient without having to lift their head.

JRCALC says.......Log rolling of the patient with possible pelvic fracture should be avoided as this may exacerbate any pelvic injury; where possible utilise an orthopaedic scoop stretcher to lift patients off the ground and limit movement to a 15° tilt. He does verbalise this

Can you do one with putting the straps on? (should this be done before the scoop is connected?) and putting the collor on someone who is already supine as this is very difficult, thanks
