Romeo comes back to see Juliet and he sees her sitting on her bed with a knife in one hand and a potion in another. Romeo asks her what she is doing and she sings this song to him. Right at the end, she takes the potion and she dies. Romeo left Juliet on her bed and has Heather killed. Everyday, Romeo comes to visit Juliet and sings this song. On December 3rd, he takes the same potion and dies... From that day on, Romeo and Juliet meet up at the bridge between Heaven and Hell once a year, on December 3rd...

The story I came up with: Two boys have been best friends for a long time now, and one of them ended up falling in love with the other one. The third of december, due to how cold it was, the second one gave his sweater to our main character and commented that 'it looked better on him than it did in himself'. Our mc manages to gather enough courage thanks to that comment and, the next day, he declares his feelings, just to find out that his love is unrequited. He runs away, too embarrased and hurt to stand staying there, but ends up getting lost and finally freezing to death ('now I'm getting colder'). However, he's still there as a ghost, but he doesn't realize that he's dead. He doesn't remember anything from the day he died/revealed his feelings, being the third of december the last day in his memory (gives a twist to the first line: 'i still remember the third of december') Meanwhile, his crush is trying to cope with the pain of losing his friend and the guilt, and Heather, who is also friends with him, gets closer because she's trying her best to help him cope with it and go on with his life ('she's such an angel', she's a good person). However, our heartbroken ghost thinks that his crush is falling in love with her, and that turns him into a more resentful spirit that isn't able to rest in peace. He starts appearing in his crush's dreams, in which his old friend seems to be afraid/grossed out by him, but our main character still doesn't realize that he's dead, so he thinks it's because his crush thinks he isn't as pretty as Heather ('im not even half as pretty') and not because he's, well, basically a nightmare for the other one. 'You gave her your sweater, it's just poliester'- One of the last moments the ghost remembers is when he was given that sweater, that's why he's so obsessed with it. It was what made him think that he had an opportunity with his crush- and, since he died because of the cold, he's also longing for the warmth he felt while he was wearing it. ... alright that was one looong interpretation lol- idk how many people will actually read this but if you've managed to read until the end, thank you, i love you, remember to take care of yourself, and take a cookie🍪

Here’s a story I wrote, how I interpreted this song. She was always jealous of _her_ - Heather. That witch of a woman she called her mother. She didn’t even know why he chose her anyways. He clearly likes her more, with the way he touches her, the way he kisses her, he trusts _her._ So why can’t he just leave her? The last straw for her was Heather leaning in to kiss his neck, placing his whiskey on the coffee table next to him. The girl stands up, her fists clenched, and she wants to do something, she really does but she can’t. She stomps away into the confines of her room, slamming the door shut behind her, and immediately fresh tears spill over, streaming down her cheeks, but she doesn’t make a sound. She just stares her reflection down, jaw clenched. Wavy blonde hair tied up in a messy ponytail, her once bright blue eyes drained of all happiness. But she was pretty. Wasn’t she? Did he think she was ugly? The thought alone is enough to make her shake her head, digging her nails into her scalp, feeling teeth pressing so hard together she thought they might shatter. “Sierra.” His voice immediately snaps her out of her thoughts, and he’s looking down at her, softly, with a look in his eyes she doesn’t recognize. But, she seeks comfort in him when he wraps an arm around her, bringing her close to his side, kissing the top of her head and she feels whole again, a smile on her face as she leans into him. But soon she thinks of her mother. And she’s angry all over again. “Why do you like her so much? Why do you-” “We have _talked_ about this. You know I don’t look at her the way I look at you.” He whispers and she’s soft again, in his arms and he knows it. He grabs her by her chin, a -wolffish- charming grin on his face, and kisses her, much to her surprise. It’s enough to make her heart burst with joy and she leans into him. There’s a part of her that’s saying this is wrong. But at the same time, she doesn’t care. She suddenly pulls away, brows furrowed, and eyes heavy, looking back up at him. “Why would you ever kiss me? I’m not like her.” Her grips her jaw, tighter than last time, his eyes warning her. “If you say that one more time I’ll-I’ll ground you.” He stutters the last part out, kissing her cheek. “I hate her. I hate her so much. She takes me away from you all the time and rubs it in my face.” She’s looking at her reflection again, sadly, wanting to cry again. He’s quiet for a moment, before the sound of a soft metallic click is right next to her, almost screaming upon seeing a gun right in her face. She looks to him, horrified and he laughs putting it on his thigh. “My dear girl, you are the only important thing in my life. I hate seeing you sad. So,” he leans in, bringing the gun into her hands, making her fingers close around it. “Kill her.” She looks up at him, (his smile is different-shut up.) swallowing down the lump in her throat. “I don’t-I-” “Shh. You don’t have to do it now. But you will do it eventually.” He stands up, his hands still wrapped around her hands. He kisses her again, but she can’t smile. She’s staring down at the hidden gun, brows furrowed. “Just... think about it.” With that he leaves, and she plops down onto her pillow, eyes staring up at the ceiling. --------- She’s awoken to screaming, her mother and Jeffrey, and gets up, looking back at the gun, and takes it, hiding it behind her back. She opens her door, moving closer to the screaming, and her stomach drops at the words, “she’s 15 fucking years old! She’s 15, Jeffrey! 15 and you-ohoho, you motherfucker. How long has it been going on?! How long?” “A year.” He answers and she hears her mother sob. “You’re a fucking monster.” She hisses and her grip tightens around her gun. “Maybe I am.” He says softly, and the sound of a metal blade being pulled out is very audible. “I’ll kill you. I’ll-I’ll kill you and I’ll cook you and feed it to the dogs.” She peers her head around the corner, seeing her knife pressed against his throat, and he looks at her, pleadingly, begging to be saved and she aims her grin at her mother, pulling back the hammer, her attention immediately on her daughter. “Get away from him.” She says, and her mother stares at her disbelievingly. “Baby... put-put the gun down.” Sierra shakes her head, finger on the trigger, and steps closer. “Sweetheart, you know I-you know I love you-he’s a liar. He’s a liar and a monster and-” “Shut up!” Her mouth clamps shut. “No he’s not. He loves me. He said-he loves me.” She says, though her voice is unsure, shaky. “I always envied you. You always get anything you want, you’re so pretty and you’re always... so nice to people that aren’t me.” Her mother’s gaze softens, but she’s not finished. “I don’t hate you. I just want to be you.” She whispers, tears pouring down her cheeks. “I wish I were Heather.” She says, and she blacks out after that. All she knows is that he’s holding her, kissing her head and whispering comforting words into her ear, and she smiles. “I love you.”

When Heather by conan grey was released, I liked the song, I thought it was a nice song. But even though I related to the lyrics, I never felt like it was about *me* or felt attached. But this cover feels much more personal to me. I liked her for 4 years, I sometimes still think that I like her, but I'm no longer angry or want her back. I'm just tired and want the feeling to fade. You must be wondering what I’ve been doing all these years. Stalking Adam. I know, I know, it sounds pretty creepy, and when I put it like that it sounds worse than it actually is. Just stick with me here. You would have done it too if you had seen such a perfect future with someone. Not to mention Adam was the reason I was a ghost. My family was also a reason for a while, but after a year or so they all stopped feeling so much guilt and pain and remorse for letting me go on the field trip. They realized that there was nothing they could have done to stop my death and they moved on. I’ll admit I was mad at them at first. I wanted to scream to them that I was still here, that I loved them with all my nonexistent heart, but I couldn’t for obvious reasons. That was when I realized Adam was the only person who was keeping my ghost alive, or as alive as a ghost could be. He wondered if I hadn’t died if we’d still be together. He wondered about what we could have been. On one hand I was happy he still loved me, on the other hand, I wanted to go to the afterlife. I was done with this stupid mortal plane of existence. I wanted eternal rest for my soul. For eleven years I stalked- no, we’ll call it hanging out. For eleven years I hung out with Adam. When he walks to work, I’m right at his side. When he eats lunch, I’m there too. I meet him at the corner every morning, and leave him at his front door every afternoon. I pretend to be alive and pretend I’m living the future I saw when I died. Everything was going just fine until she came into Adam’s life. Heather. She was a barista at the coffee shop he went to every morning. She was new. “Hi, what can I get for you today?” she asked in her too-sweet-to-have-been- genuine customer voice. “You’re new here, aren’t you?” “Wow, am I really that bad at this?” she asked, all fakeness in her voice suddenly disappearing. “No, no,” Adam assured her. “It’s just that I’ve never seen you around before.” “Oh, yeah. I’ve just moved from New York. Sorry, I’ll spare you the life story, um, your order?” “Can I have an iced coffee?” “And Will that be all?” Heather asked. “Um, could I maybe…. buy you a coffee some time?” Adam asked. I started to panic. Why her? What did he see in her? Was it her blonde hair, her green eyes, or her excessive amount of tattoos? I was supposed to be the only girl he loved for the rest of his life! This couldn’t have been happening. Heather turned red as a tomato, “Yeah, that’d be nice.” I wanted to slap Adam and kill Heather. He was supposed to be mine. We were supposed to be together. I didn’t want Adam to sulk in misery over what we could have been for the rest of his life, but I wasn’t ready for this! The date was unfortunately a success. They planned another for the next week, then another, and another, until eventually they moved in together. Adam wasn’t mine anymore. Even after they moved in it took Adam a while to tell her about me and about his sadness for what our future could have been. “It’s just- sometimes I feel like she’s still here even twelve years later. I still pull out my phone to text her. I’m not- I can’t- I don’t feel like she’s gone.” “Adam,” Heather said. She put her warm hand on his cheek. “I can’t say I know what it’s like to suddenly lose someone, but you know she’s gone. Nothing can bring her back. If you never accept that she’s gone, you’ll waste your life.” “I know, I know, but I can’t just flip a switch and not care about Emily.” “Maybe therapy can help,” Heather suggested. “I know someone who works at this clinic. Maybe you can stop by and schedule something?” “No,” I said aloud even though I knew no one could hear me. “NO. NO. ADAM!!! I’M HERE! I’M RIGHT HERE! I DON’T WANT YOU TO LIVE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE WONDERING WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THAT STUPID OLD MAN HAD WATCHED WHERE HIS TRUCK WAS GOING, BUT I’M NOT READY TO LEAVE SO SUDDENLY AGAIN!!! I WANT TO GO TO THE AFTERLIFE BUT NOT LIKE THIS AND NOT BECAUSE OF HER!!! I STILL LOVE YOU ADAM AND I KNOW YOU STILL LOVE ME!!! PLEASE! PLEASE!!! I’M BEGGING YOU!!!” My plead’s didn’t have any impact on them. He nodded. I started to fade. “Adam?” I asked, but my voice was quieter than usual. After a few sessions of therapy, I was gone. It was Heather’s fault. It’s all her fault. I wish I were alive. Then I could be happy. I wish I were Heather.

Ok so Heather has mind control, and she's keeping him under her trance at all times. Our main finds out and tries to bring it to his attention but he wouldn't listen. She thought he was just pretending. So main goes out to try and win him back but Heather catches her. A video plays of heather and the guy together, and once she sees his blank eyes she realized there was no hope for her man, so she gives up, and Heather lulls her into a trance, forever, hence the end of the song slowly fading out, as her will and consciousness Dripping away for good.

All I can imagine is someone falling in love with their best friend, to scared to tell them and then suddenly their friend falls for the girl named heather, the entire song the main character is crying and won’t say the words out loud unless they are alone. Very jealous they start getting angry with their friend, yelling at them and calling them stupid, overall leading them to hate love. The last few lines are quite and not as aggressive, sitting in the rain crying they say the words out loud thinking they are alone, their best friend goes to check on them since they’ve been distant, they realize what they’ve said out loud and can’t finish the sentence.
