I got a new huge kiln, but realized it has a problem in the very first firing. I had already sold my little working kiln so I find a free kiln on Craigslist, combined it with parts from my very first kiln (AKA The Frankenkiln), and did a test run. She needs one new element but otherwise, The Bride of Frankenkn lives and shall be running my pottery until the new kiln is fixed.
if anyone wants tips on DIY kiln projects feel free to comment below I can also post the original speed video and explain what I'm doing but that's a good 30 minutes and we all have short attention spans here so I'll wait until it gets requested. just to be safe though, always unplug or shut off the breaker before opening up your kiln sitter or controller. and always check with an electrician before you use your kiln the first time!
