Thank you for great video, works great for aluminum bezel insert, no effect on ceramic, except lime pip was destroyed after 72 hours in bleach (no regrets, that was an experiment)

I tried to bleach an aluminium bezel, but im guessing the bleach is not strong enough. I have used standard household bleach with 5% chlorite / 2.49g of natriumhypochlorite. Can you please tell me which cleach you used?

Hello ! Great video . Can you please recommend the insert that would fit an Omega Seamaster 300M Professional mid-size 36 mm ref.2551.80.00 ? Thank you very much !

How about bleaching a dial?
@DIYWatchClub6 ай бұрын
Dial bleaching is an interesting idea! But it's not often done since the dial is sealed in the case and the way it ages isn't like the way a bezel insert ages. We aged a dial in another video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqC2Z2Zurqucaas

How about making hands like oxidation?
@DIYWatchClub Жыл бұрын
Interesting idea. Hands usually oxidize quite readily when left in the open for an extended period of time

I just want to remove some of the "shine" of a new aluminum insert. I guess just rub it less?

Tip: use watch 40years
@RabbitWatchShop4 ай бұрын
I feel the same way, yet I don’t mind seeing it on affordable, mod, and personal build watches. These watches are fun; therefore, we can be less serious with them.

I've seen Tudors fade after 3 years. It depends how much sunlight and abrasion your insert gets. If you're babying your watch it can look brand new after decades anyways. It's all about your lifestyle

Use plastic tweezers not steel otherwise you risk scratching your nice beeched bezel insert.
@DIYWatchClub Жыл бұрын
Good point. We didn't use plastic tweezers because we know the exact pressure to apply on the tweezers to avoid scratches and even when accidents happen we eventually wanted the scratches. For those who don't want extra scratches, plastic-tip tweezers would be helpful here.

Chloroform is delicious
@DIYWatchClub Жыл бұрын
After a chloroform-induced coma, I have to thank you for pointing this out. Jokes aside, yes, rubbing alcohol+bleach can produce chloroform, depending on the type of alcohol and bleach used. We didn't point this out explicitly in the video, but it's good to let the rubbing alcohol dry before dipping the bezel insert into bleach. But anyway, with the small amount used here, it shouldn't be a hazard.

How to make your bezel look like shiet…ok Got it!
@DIYWatchClub Жыл бұрын
😂 what's the saying... one person's shiet is another's treasure lol Jokes aside, aged watches are really a thing and people pay extra to have their watches aged professionally. Check out outoforderwatches.com/
