Putting BMX handlebars on a mountain bike

Trying to make my mountain bike more comfortable for me to ride. I love to ride but my back does not, so I put BMX handlebars on a mountain bike. Hoping this will do the trick. I have other mods and accessories I want to install on my bike. So, keep an eye out for new videos.

If he don't put a shorter stem on it , he will still have a far reach he need a Bmx stem

I feel you on that… I’m planning on putting some BMX handlebars on my mountain bike as well, and get an E-Bike conversion kit installed so I won’t have to pedal as much…

Paint the shims with black paint you can. Get small hard wearing paint yes that looks good I'm having the same problem. After a couple of miles my back and kneck hurt like mad so that's give me a good idea. We'll the modern fat tyre ebikes have the same bars. I put longer stem on mine but still not the job my bike does 45mph I find getting around that speed my back hurts plus I haven't got rear suspension I've been looking for an old frame it's got two hard rubber balls with metal center pipes then bolt runs through and can alter tension better than spring

I put Wald 10" bars from ebay on a single speed schwinn coffee 700c bicycle. Most comfortable bicycle I'd ever owned. But ended up sold it for lack of room.

You can use cut up innertube as a shim too

I plan on doing something similar. My only question is will the gear selector reach the handle bar

Mine does, I do have to lengthen the hand brakes for the back tire. I'm thinking of changing my handle bars to a 4 inch lift instead of the 9 inch I have now. I think I will have better control. Also thinking about a BMX handle bar mount, it will bring the handle bars closer to me. Let me know how your Ike mods go and thank you for watching.

Can you make a explanation on the rear brake, because mine keeps detaching from the read wheel cable holder when ever i turn, i tried a longer cable and everything but still, i thing its missing the tubing part. Thank you very mutch

I'm wanting to do the same thing , Will you have someone film you while your riding the bike so I can see how your setting . What size bar is that ? what is the brand name of the bar . What is the length,curve angle ect . On most bars they give you about 4 different measurements.

Will do, It might be awhile but I will finish it. I had a set back on the brakes. My handle bars are 9 inches tall and I might have to go to a 4 inch for better control. I will also be changing the handle bar mount to a BMX mount. Learning as I go and just trying to make a comfortable ride. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching
