I did this to take weight off my wrists. Plus bmx bars look great and feel great, much better to pull up. You can also see better being up higher, plus standing straight up is nice.

I added the low rise BMX handlebars to my older 26" mountain bike and a 750w mid-drive motor, and all you want to do is ride it everywhere yours looks ok because your sat upright you don't get back pains its cool😅

I think those handle bars look great on your bike! I'm getting ready to do the same thing on my old-school chromoly road because it's so much more comfortable than my carbon fiber road bike

I did this with a takara women's frame to get a more upright position and had to change out almost all of the cables for the brakes and the derailers it was kind of a pain but makes a great grocery gutter and is still a ton of fun to ride around

I know exactly what your talking about. Most of the cables were to short after I installed the BMX bars. The "Y" stem on my takara is one of my favorite features as well. Thanks for the comment!! Keeping old bikes alive and rolling is fun! 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️

There is a futuristic video in the KZbin channel British Pathe where people are seen putting the half-circular handlebars behind the seat of a bicycle ( maybe about 80 years ago). Perhaps, it is the time to give that option a serious thought. I am always for a small sofa-like seat on the bicycle seatpost. But that seems to be an insult to the cycling community. Well, not everyone wants to race.

That's what I need, even higher! These accursed mountain bikes' handlebars are way, waaayyy too low, I have to completely bend over to grab the bars, my back hurts so much from being bent while I ride! Which idiot came up with that nonsense, I'm not a helmet-spandex and my life doesn't revolve around wearing tights, I just want to ride my bicycle without terrible pains in my back and pelvis!
