First: IGNORE the E-bike (or E-chainsaw, or E-anything) haters, they're irrelevant. Second: Good for you! If companies are contacting you to try out their equipment and you're up-front with we viewers, then again -- IGNORE the haters. Third: IGNORE the haters. (Or, politely ask them to seek entertainment elsewhere in which to unload their bile.) As for your pun: "Short of having an electrical problem..." Well, keep an "open" mind and your "resistance" will drop. You may achieve Zen, in which case you can ride along chanting "Ohm, Ohm's Law, Ohm..." Cheers from your E-everything endorser to the North, in Linn County.

Try a Surface 604 Colt with 48V 500 watt motor. South of the medicine line that would be around two grand USD. I rode 1242 miles (2000 km) this season some on logging roads, rural paved roads and the Okanagan rail trail. It is about 55 pounds with 2.1” tire width. I always pedal but never have to press hard, just idling along. I go down by gravity and back by electricity. When you use your legs, it is like a second heart. Last week my friend brought the Wood miser mill over. We sawed about 1800 fbm including 82 12” 2x6 (984 fbm) mostly Douglas fir and some 2x4 from spruce. a few little cedar. I like to see the mill come here and I like to see it leave. As we say if it flies or floats, it’s cheaper to rent. I use the edge slabs etc. I had 20 pieces 8 foot and 12 foot. Some fir was totally clear and had really nice colours for door, window, and molding stock. I saw a minimum 9” top and I had two 8 foot pieces with 17” top. Those two squared to about 12 inch plus the side lumber. Tops and smaller pieces will keep the house warm in a few years. Easy living wood chip.

I’ll tell you what, I spend a lot of time on MTB- seeing a lot of guys on EBikes these days missing kit. Helmet, eye protection, & a repair kit are must haves. Chain tool, repair link, tire irons (plastic), patch kit and maybe an inner tube, pump and/or CO2 inflators, a bike tool. My bike weighs 1/4 what this does & wouldn’t want to push it back.

This seems like a good way for an e-bike rider to sneak up on a bear in the woods without either the bear or the rider being aware until the encounter . If they'd invent one that converts to a chainsaw and also skids logs, you'd be in business.
@richdobbs6595Ай бұрын
Those fat tired E-bikes are basically designed to look good. The only terrain where those tires are the best tread is beach sand or going through mud. Lighter weight E-bikes built from converting mountain bikes are easier to cart around, and are sufficiently strong, and you can get parts to repair them. My Bafang mid drive has just as powerful of a motor, but the converted bike probably weighs half of what that one does. It is based on a vintage 2000 Schwinn bike that originally cost $500. I think my 66 year old carcass could go up those slopes faster than you did on my E-bike, even though you are far more physically fit. Just saying.

It’s too bad one of the companies that make bikes more suited to your use case didn’t send one. I think Goat Power’s Bill Goat V3 would eat up your “hills”, but it’s considerably more expensive. They’re all much heavier than traditional bikes.
@audunms47805 ай бұрын
Thats a too hewy bike, that extra weight i bet makes it harder on the engine and thus slows down the bike. I got too say i dont understand the reason for the added weight beyond style and want for inertia. You also got too consider that due too the weight and the hard angles on the square frame it is a safety hazard. You dont want it too fall and hit your shins or ankles. That could werry mutch happen if you fall or get got of the bike wrong. But hey, i havent tried the bike so what doo i know.

Hope you like your ebike. (Well maybe you're sold on it) I love mine. On the weekends I do 40-50 miles per day. (I carry a spare battery. Looks like you have 2 batteries) I also have "mag" wheels like you. Way smarter. No spokes to tighten. I've put about 5000 miles on mine in 2 years. I've had 2 flats. One was a 20 penny nail smack in the middle of the rear tire. Then a 2/8x3" "twig" right in the middle of the front. I now have Mr Tuffy liners. Used painter's tape to hold them in place to keep them from sliding around while installing the inner tube. I have taken mine on a 1900' gain ride, but that was 8 miles not 3.) They do make AWD bikes with more power that might make it up that hill. You probably know that already and you're kind of frugalish.
