@@JohnnyCashCadillac those trucks came with a rear locker from the factory. Granted they’re shit. But it’s clearly working on the rear. Both are spinning. The front however is open. So three wheels were spinning not just two. They also come with a 4x4 auto which simulates all wheel drive. Inthe newer trucks it uses the breaks to distribute power. Those older ones it just activated and de activates the transfer case. All wheel drive without lockers or limited slip differentials would act the same as a 4x4 truck with open differentials. One front and one rear would spin. That’s it. That’s why I said your right and wrong.

Thank you! I built the bumper my plasma cutter took a shit so I was stuck cutting everything with a grinder and chop saw haha. Just has factory gears at the moment im not sure what they are but their definitely taller than i want for 37s 1st gear does 55. No lockers that's next and finish my twin turbo setup

The Tahoe bumper I built from scratch just went to the local metal shop picked up some steel and started welding, it was a pain in the ass building from scratch though. The transmission definitely isn't the weak link it was built by monster transmission to handle 1000 hp for the twin turbo system I ended up installing. The rear end currently needs replaced as a result😂

@drchorizo8109 my final question to ya if I got a move bumper on a 2011 tahoe with 4-5 inch rc lift you think I'd clear 33/35 with -44 or -76 offset with no problem? Like I wouldn't have to trim anything?

@BMAN813 33 should clear no problem I originally put 35s on when I only had 3" lift i can't remember what my wheel offset is though. I did have to trim for the 35s but that was with the stock bumper which hangs low and my factory running boards, just remembered the windshieldwasher tank may be an issue also the fender skirts may need trimmed. ​@@mikerucker4816 look for rpo codes in glove box, urs is most likely a 6l80/90 so it'll probably have 3.42 or 3.08s.and even a 6spd and 3.08 gonna suffer bad with 33s. 5.3l is sackless under 3k rpms. Find a good tuner who will properly tune your truck ( or at bare min, properly setup trans tune for tire size). A trans tune will have the biggest effect on driving. 6spd usually comes out of 3rd at 98mph aftwr I tune, stock well into 4-5th stock...thats rugged. They take ALOT to make drop a gear and pass stock, aftwr tune just a big toe will dump 2 gears, a full foot at highway speed will drop 2nd and let her eat till 5800rpm where I set limiter. A good tune with no mods will really unleash a ton more dribeablility. All honesty tho, 33s need a regear, not sur what to go to woth a 6spd tho but a 4 speed needs 4.10s for 33s, I just had to change up to 4.56 for my 2010 on 35s

@@erik120719 10/4! Thanks for all the info. Definitely gives me a lot to consider. I had a lq9 vortec max on a 6” CST lift with 2” body running 35s that got stolen last April. With the current market it’s far cheaper to just make the Tahoe like-able and able to go down some light trails I enjoy in the mountains. So it has me considering my options. I just don’t want to be riding up a hill and it just stop with no balls to go anywhere 😂. Never had that issue with my truck but I had a 4.0 Jeep that wasn’t geared that would literally just stop in place on a good incline.

Plus 40k trans cooler helped out before the gear change.

I wasn’t putting down your rig it’s a lovely 4x4 but locking diffs would have made that little climb so much easier. Look up the Dakar rally…… you will see why the Pajero has won so many championships, your Tahoe isn’t a off-roader and it never will be. That lift kit won’t get you out of a hole with no locking diffs 😂
