Putting sides on a 5 x 10 utility trailer

I'm putting 3' sides on my 5 x 10 utility trailer. I'm also painting and putting smooth sides so I can put graphics on as well. I will finish painting the trailer once the treated lumber has dry enough. I have few tips along the way. I would like to apologize for the wind noise in some shots.

Nice design! Looks nice and sturdy. My trailer has some worthless stake pockets along the lower frame rail in 2 places on each side. They are worthless because, there are only 2 on each side and the top rail is in the way of side posts. I don't want to remove any metal from the top rail because, I'm sure that would weaken the frame. Maybe not much, but I don't like the idea of taking that chance.

How much does it weigh after the addition? My axles support 3500 pounds I think. I have been thinking of doing the same thing.

Can you use those brackets and 2 by 4 around outside. I have no tools and can not weld

You don't have to weld but you will need some tools like drill, saw, and wrenches

If u r handy at all u can wire, u can buy a flux core welder for under $200, watch a few welding videos Andy r set, easy

What size tires are on your trailer? What is the largest size wheels that you can use on that 5x10 trailers?

The trailer has st205/70d 15". I have no idea what other sizes you could use but to find out you might try calling a trailer dealer.

U could probably go to 26570r15, trouble with most trailers is that they r under tired

What size carriage bolts did you used?

I used 1/4" but I would probably use 3/8" if I did it over.

what size of wood was used for the framing? what size of wood is used for inserts? How are the inserts tied into the top wood rails?

Top rail and bottom rail are a 2x4 treated lumber ripped down to a 2x2 and the inserts are 2x4 treated lumber that are tied in by using pocket hole jig to both top and bottom rails
