If you ever used a router and tried to feed the blade the wrong way on the edge of the board and it grabs and tries to run down the board, then you experienced what machinists call "climb milling". The stump grinder does the same thing. If you use the 3-9 o'clock position (looking at the rear of the grinder) the grinder tries to climb up on the stump. You can see what I am talking about at around 26:50. That is why they recommend starting on the right and moving to your left as you grind the stump using the 6-9 o'clock portion of the cutter. I have one of these on the way from Woodland Mills and have been watching lots of videos trying to learn a thing or two before I actually stick mine in the dirt. Oh, and good job getting rid of those stumps! Especially under the threat of a yellow jacket attack 😃

Awesome video bud! I just ordered mine this past Friday. Running it on a Kioti 3520se shuttle shift gear drive. Thanks for your time and effort. It was really helpful. Godbless

This is amazing tool. In my dad we used dynamite on the farm to remove stumps. But unfortunately you cant used dynamite anymore. It was ALOT of fun.

Cool tool. I think that the right-to-left way dulls the cutters more as they pull the dirt and stones through more of the stump.

How has the Transmission's Mechanical Clutch held up to the stump grinding and the slow feathering that you have to do with it?

Curious how many stumps around that size you could cut before the teeth need replacement/sharpening? Thanks for the vid

Talking to my buddy who has the same stump grinder, he's done over 80 to 100 stumps so far, and there has been no need to replace anything. As long as you keep it out of rocks and such, the teeth should last a long time.
