Ha ha, I'm learning..it's a slow process. I watch the channel Joshua Alexander and he is awesome, always making things. I think to myself if he can build massive chicken coops and garden sheds, surely I can put a handle and some hinges on a hamster cage. :) I could have a go at putting shelves up but they might be wonky :)

Great video! Didn't think to modify the Eco Habitat like that. Would a liner at the bottom suffice if we don't have plastikote?

Thanks and not sure what you mean by a liner? I would be careful what you line it with incase your hamster chewed/ate it. I used a 100% hemp mat.

@@CosmicHamsters I was specifically thinking of the hemp mat! The plastikote is to prevent damage to the wood, right? Would the hemp mat be helpful enough without the plastikote?

@@madelinebrooks4726 Yes, the plastikote is to protect the wood from urine damage. So far Twinkle hasn't burrowed down far enough to get urine on the hemp mat or the base, so a hemp mat might be just enough on it's own, with plenty of bedding on top of it. However, all hamsters are different, so one might burrow right down. You could just try it and see what happens.

Not sure if you mean size of the Squares (6mm) or width of the whole thing... I used 910mm X 610mm.

Hellow! I was thinking to buy this cage, but i would like to know if the height is 63cm included its wheels or it's just the cage. I have a spot perfect for this cage andmit would fit like a charm. just the height would be an issue if it's taller with the wheels 😅

I believe it is 61cm.with the wheels and 52cm without. I hope that helps
