Beautiful! My Grandmother always had these Santa paper garland and when she passed I got them. I always used to tell her that when she passed I wanted her Christmas decorations and she would always laugh, to me it wasn't Christmas without those Paper Santa Garland.

Admittedly, I have a dislike of glitter. However, the houses are cute and it's easy to find lots of cards in thrift stores around the holidays. I'd like to try these. I can put yarn on the roofs.

my grandmother had them on the tree and we would put the xmas lights through the back so they would be lit. many moons later I found them at a Xmas store but the ones I have are overused and need to make new ones thanks for the idea and the recycling of xmas cards.

What a sweet story! It must have been such a thrill to see those little houses again and know the history behind them. They really did come out very cute and I would highly suggest getting one of those Olfa rotary self-healing mats. They're a bit pricey, but they're really excellent to have for papercraft (just don't make the same mistake I did and attempt to cut cloth on it).

Just a hint...I use a light COLORED pencil to draw my FOLD lines. I do everything batch style, draw all houses first, then cut them all out, then assemble, then decorate them all at one time. This way, I can work on these when i have free time. I don't have a dedicated craft space, I just use 2 small folding tables. Doing batch style means I dont have to keep pulling out ALL the necessary craft supplies, but only the ones I need for the particular step I'm doing. Hope this helps someone who doesn't have a lot of space, or time. I can work for an hour or so, then clean up my things and the next time I have free time, I'm ready to go to the next step. This works for basically any craft. Happy creating to you all. I know this is a basic tip, which a lot of you already know, but some people feel overwhelmed when they start crafting. I think we all should share our knowledge... no tip is a bad tip to the person who needs it!! 🙋‍♀️😊

I believed I used a Martha Stewart brand glitter I bought at Micheals for the roof. It was small and crystal like sparkly. For the other, parts I used glitter that I had purchased from the dollar store?? It is hard to remember. I think a fine, small particle glitter would be best.
