Good thing you could slew off the driver side after all that setup 😜 This is the thing I love about boom pumping, no 2 days are the same. Great setup and marking for a return to site. Duly noted 👍🏻

Leverage. The longer the leverage the more torque will be applied. Love all the details man. I can honestly say that I watch your channel to learn. I had once heard some similar numbers on weight per foot, but for rubber hose. I have to say that those 20ft 4” hoses weigh an awful lot more than the 3.5”, but are easier to drain because of the slightly larger diameter. Like I mentioned in one of your previous videos, my set up is something I check like 3 times before I lift up the boom. Solid set up, and solid machine 👍
@canadianconcretepumper19792 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, the 4” hose in my opinion is cruel and unusual punishment in comparison to 3.5”. We run 3.5” for most of our commercial work, only stepping it up to 4” if we’re doing an exceptionally thick slab or large footing.

I ran a Putzmeister 63m boom about 10 year's ago here in Ireland and that pump whould bounce like crazy if you where reaching out far and if the concrete was stiff it was twice as bad.
@canadianconcretepumper19792 жыл бұрын
The gen 1.5 version of the 63M I believe is much more stable in terms of boom bounce as it now runs 4.8" pipeline the full length pf the boom rather than reducing down to 4.4"/4.6" pipe and elbows at the C section of boom as id did with the first generation design.

Thank you for your videos. It's nice to hear you explain why certain things are done the way they are. Question though. Who runs the placing boom? Is it one of your operators or does the general have someone qualified to run it?
@canadianconcretepumper19792 жыл бұрын
Most often it is one of our own operators who runs the placing boom. Mandatory operator certification is being implemented in our area, so the days of chucking just any monkey onto the placing boom are soon to be history. Only highly skilled monkeys need apply 😂😂😂

@@canadianconcretepumper1979 OMG.. Too funny. I was hoping it was something along those lines. Been on way too many sites where someone jumps up and says "I can do that". Usually happens just before the job site is shut down for 3 or 4 days....

On my pump my legs is marked as 30T. I notice that the margins should be non existent. My rear leg often raises of the ground when Im flat boom over 1 of the front leg. I normally pump this kind of jobs at 5-6 on the dial at 1800 rpm. My pump loves that kind of feed rate. Not much movement, and 8m3 is usually emptied at around 5-6 minutes. No stress or rush. Just a normal day! When the first layer is going out I usually get a height, and crank it up to 10 and lives comfortably in my world, emptying the trucks at 10 on the dial. Then 8m3 is done in 3 minutes, and 11m3 is empty at 5 minutes! This is another difference I notice, here the concrete finishing team arrives with 2 guys, and one guy takes the end hose, the other one takes the height and vibrator. While your sites looks crowded with a 100 million people! But I see the concrete is very different from the grey stuff I get in the pump. Its full of various things like fly ash, +++ Some of it is very pumpable, other mixes it nearly impossible to get into the pump.
@canadianconcretepumper1979 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it’s pretty typical here for the placing/finishing crew to supply enough bodies to keep up with 60-70 meters per hour, but ready mix is only be able supply 30-35. It’s been especially bad lately with work in the city as traffic is an absolute nightmare. Ready mix drivers can be lucky to make 3-4 trips in 12 hours some days. Most of our pumps are lucky to see 10 on the volume dial much more than a couple of times per year out here.

Im interested in the ergonic aswell since i never use it. My 36-4 Z putzmeister has been given me a headache lately, occasionally lose engine brake and cruise control which causes the pump not to bump up😑🙄. Had to take the 43 to a residential back patio 4 meters job yesterday

Sounds like perhaps the “whisker switch” on the clutch pedal (that’s a relatively common thing with our Mack chassis over here anyhow).

@@canadianconcretepumper1979 Yeah im not sure. My coworker advised me that so i jiggled the petals on Thursday but it didn't work on Friday. Our mechanic had the putz computer box open.... so it's way above my knowledge lol. I sure will be testing it before i leave the yard tomorrow!

Ergo 1.0 I am fairly well versed. Ergo 2.0 we only have on machine and I’m an extremely limited in my experience with it. Ergo 3.0 from what I have seen is a huge leap forward from both versions 1 and 2, and also appears at least to be much more operator friendly.
