I wouldn't be too ready to accept this as the "new normal". We are only in this current extreme situation due to the bad initial responses by the government. Bear in mind that some countries, like New Zeland, have been back in the "old normal" for several months, because they pursued "zero covid" from the start. The rest of the world really needs to try achieve the same goal, otherwise the continuing mutations will eventually lead to something that our vaccine development can't keep up with. Although, like the Asian countries have after their previous brushes with SARS, I think we as a nation should learn that donning a mask when we have a cold or flu etc would be better in the long run for the overal health of our fellow citizens. I for one will keep wearing a mask in those situation, even when the current pandemic is deemed "over". That was a really cool looking wood puzzle, I have seen adverts for it pop up on social media a few times, but now, thanks to you, I've seen it up close, I've gone and ordered one for my Mum for Mothers Day. 😊
@WormsEyeView3 жыл бұрын
Oh I bet your mum will love that!! I know I did! Yes I think our view on illness has been off for too long. Making people feel they should work even if unwell means we are spread germs. Also how much can be done at home which gives a more balanced family life.

IB agrees with your prediction of the future. I have the same physical reaction when I watch older vlogs and see people going right in their spaces. I feel that I myself will bounce right back to normal with regards to mixing once it is considered safe. I think Izzy and some other young people will carry on with masks etc, like the norm in China or Japan which is fashionable with young people anyway, though I think most youngsters haven’t taken it seriously in the first place.
@PlanetImo3 жыл бұрын
I think that people susceptible to ritual hand washing /OCD will have found it massively triggering and will suffer with enduring problems that take a heck of a lot of sorting out.
@PlanetImo3 жыл бұрын
Regarding very young children like those the age that you look after, I wonder if they MAY learn to fear getting close to people beyond their bubbles, particularly those who were of a non mixing disposition in the first place, already needing support to mix before the pandemic came along. Perhaps they may need some extra help undoing all this learned social distancing. Thanks for the vlog as always! X

I have never seen a wooden puzzle like that. I love living on my acreage the only noise is what we make or animals at night. Glad you are feeling better. I too wonder what it will be like. I think it will be more normal or what we thought was normal. I can’t see mask wearing be used forever. I personally could handle mask wearing forever if I could get back to family and friend gatherings. Take care.

Good morning... nice to hear you're feeling better. Mmmmm... hot cross buns. My fav as long as they are fresh and soft. Such a gorgeous wood puzzle. I've never seen a wood one like that. You sure got that finished in a hurry. Don't you just love noisy vehicles. We have a neighbour kitty corner from us, and he lets his truck run for sometimes up to 20 minutes at a time before he leaves home. Not sure of the reasoning behind it, unless he dislikes sitting in a cold vehicle. But is sure is an irritating dull roar sound. (His is the cat that run up the leg of the park manager and bit at her face and hair). Wow....another completed puzzle... you're on a roll !!! Like you, I also wonder what the new "norm" will be after things settle down. My son dropped by yesterday with the kids having picked up a few items for us. The older one, (9) had her mask on, pulled down below her chin. I asked her if it bothers her to wear a mask.. she shrugged her shoulders and said.. "nope". So, does that mean it's just another normal part of life for her wearing a mask?. I am not a *public lots of people person* either.. I like my space. So, for myself I don't really have to change my life, except for the mask. I wonder if and when I'll be comfy not wearing one in public. Such a difference a year has made in our lives eh? Have a wonderful day.. see you later. 🥰

They just found like acgenetally annoying family. I feel your pain. Oh how lovely to see the grandkids. I think the children will see a lot of these things as normal. A year or probably 2 in the end is such a long time in the life of a child!

Cool looking puzzles! I'm glad that you're feeling a bit better, my friend and glad you're taking a couple easier days. On the mask thing my opinions.....first note that my doctors have since confirmed that it was indeed the Rona that I had a few months back (Novemberish or so), and I was indeed very very sick with it (was "the sickest that I have ever been" I think I said at the time, and agree with now), bare in mind that laws are different here (which greatly influences my opinions on the matter). All that said, as you know the Mrs. has been diagnosed with "underlying health issues" that make the Rona potentially very dangerous for her in the the last several months, so I have actually started wearing masks (we already did the hand sanitizer and being mindful of social distancing) when I go out, I had not done so before....well, I've typed this out half a dozen times trying to not be political in my thoughts on the matter (which really wouldn't matter to the discussion since we live in different countries anyways, with different laws, etc) so I'll just say that because of Mrs. ADV's underlying health condition, I will continue to wear one not because of fear that I will catch it again, but to help reduce her risks, if that makes sense? I thoroughly enjoyed today's visit, my friend, it made me happy to watch today knowing you were feeling better 😊✌

I think the whole point of the mask is to protect others more than ourselves. Although it does give us some protection.
@SmallADVentures19733 жыл бұрын
@@WormsEyeView I agree completely, and IMO they DO help prevent the spread. Some food for thought in a funny story too though, for the other side of that coin-I was in the local "mom n pop" (locally owned) guitar store hanging out a couple weeks back, we all wear masks there because the owner is elderly and not the best of health, several employees wear those medical S95 (or whatever they're called) masks. One of the guys cracked off a little squeaker (fart....and ok, it was me 😜), which permeated the entire store, it "reeked to high heaven" (it stunk really bad, LOL). Everyone in there was laughing and gagging, and talking about "how in the world could such a little fart stink up the entire store?". When the laughing finally died down and it got quiet, I said "So wait wait wait wait a minute.....y'all didn't smell that, every single one of you guys have masks on!". That was just a fart, not a microscopic infectious disease 🤔😉 (true story, BTW 🤣)

I kno w how you feel about how weird it feels to be “back to normal.” It has been somewhat traumatizing. For the first time the other day, I had lunch with other lady riders and didn’t wear a mask. I am fully vaccinated, but I honestly felt nervous about not wearing one for the others who were not and didn’t want them to worry, and they didn’t know I was fully vaccinated, but still, so much is not know about how the virus is carried. It is nerve-racking.
