I believe the inspiration for all these anime powers centering on the eyes comes from an ancient tale called the Evil Eye. It is thought that some have such terrible power that they can kill by looking at you in the eye. Outside of anime, another example is Rowling's Basilisk in the second Harry Potter. The original legend of the basilisk wasn't a giant snake; but was said to have the Evil Eye. These days most remember the Evil Eye in terms of a stern/angry stare, without the death.

correction, his eyes are the hadron cannons too. He head shot a guy by just looking at him. BUt yes, kids, this is truly the japanese' way of solving our need for Code Geass. After episode 3, I was like THANK YOU GOD, FOR THIS Heavenly RIP-OFF of code geass. ITS SO BEAUTIFUL I WANT TO CRY.

yes but people wouldn't really understand it. It actually means "just now" as in "Just now (I have arrived)." It can be translated as "I'm home" or "I'm back" or "I have returned"

But it's still a Japanese series since the original novel was created by a Japanese man (called Takaya Kagami). The series Avatar the Last Airbender was created in Korea as well, but it's still an American show because the people who came up with the story and everything that happens -and how it happens, when it happens and what it looks like- are American. Koreans should be given credit, but it doesn't make it a Korean show. It also doesn't make it a half-Korean show.
