Why is everyone so secretive about PVC board? You won't lose out on sales just because you help some fellow hobbyists out who don't want to buy pre made cages but like you want to build their own. Kind of irritating to be honest. You guys build really nice cages though, keep up the good work.

Realistically we buy from a major supplier that you can call and order from but having an LLC and buying 30 sheets at a time are where we get our discounts from. If you bought the same material as us, it would cost the average person 7 dollars less than one of our cages

There really isn't. We have a company account and order ours by the pallet through a large official supplier in order to get the price down. So check out scaletopia on Facebook to get quotes on a cage, but we can't give out our suppliers info

Hi great video, I have a question I’ve asked a lot of places to buy pvc board but seem to not understand what I’m looking for to build my own enclosure. What is the “correct” board name or what is the material of the pvc board?
@cocoscorner64192 жыл бұрын
It is 1/2 inch expanded PVC The biggest problem is sourcing it. It took us a long time to find a supplier and it wasn't until we were buying 15 sheets at a time that the price became low enough to be cheaper than buying a premade cage
@joseradiation5 жыл бұрын
Look up plastic welding. It's simple and will not only make your cage more aesthetically pleasing, it will also make it leak proof.
@cocoscorner64195 жыл бұрын
What we do now with out cages is actually screwless and a very specific PVC glue that actually melts and bonds the seems making the joint stronger then the PVC sheet itself and seals the cage water tight as well

@@katiebug5273 the problem is finding the material. If you can find pvc sheets for a decent price, then you cut it down so the sides fit on top of the bottom piece, and then we would clean the edge with acitone and use a PVC glue and then brad nail it to hold it in place while the glue dried. Then for the glass we used 1/4 in thick non tempered glass that rode in tracks we made using a router table. Just made the tracks an extra .030 inches wider than the glass

Pro heat radiant heat panels are the best, heat tape on a really good thermostat like a herptstat and we do custom led lighting brackets for either led or uvb. And just a heads up, it's hard to seal PVC on a butt joint, that's why we router all edges and use a specialty glue made for PVC board
