Shadow Dragon PvP was actually pretty good for what we got. The Fog of War was a nice touch and it was a fun environment for team testing and not the broken mess that was Fates PvP. But I agree, eff the cheaters. Like why? How is it fun to have a maxed out Parthia wielding Ests with unlimited movement and inability to end turns. Like, why?

Heroes is probably the most balanced PvP FE has gotten considering always getting max stats and skills being more set and stone. The only problem is whales and power creep. If it wasn’t a mobile game it probably would avoid those issues.

I know it's the era of multiplayer games, but fire emblem PvP sucks hard because of so many things. If you want a good online fe experience, why not a sort of dungeon in which each player plays with each other and tries escaping by helping each other and fighting?

Even in FEH I’m not to confident in the new PvP mode since it can very easily just devolve into a P2W mode especially since there is already that element in AR and arena.

Arena is based entirely on merges, Base Stat Total, and high SP cost skills. There's no "skill" requirement for it because you're just fighting high merge AI controlled teams with tier 4 skills. It's a fine mode for what it is, but it's not PvP and it doesn't have any challenge. Aether Raids requires a lot more skill and thought in team composition, but the enemy teams are still AI controlled, so there's always an element of dumb AI. Aether Raids also involves players turning their enemy teams into "traps" for attackers, where a good enemy team really can't be safely attacked. That's not a skill thing, necessarily. Summoner Duels is a lot more skill vs skill, where building a team requires you to think about your composition, which units and skills help cover weaknesses vs other units and other skills, and which units and skills let you employ strategies to help overwhelm your opponents. "Whales" aren't at as much of an advantage in SD, because taking down a +10 unit isn't really a lot harder than an unmerged unit with the right setup. I like it.

I REALLY liked fates pvp. It was my entire childhood back in the day. Really sad that nobody plays it anymore (to my knowledge), since it's viewed negatively by the masses, and also kinda disappointed that fire emblem pvp has not been tried since then.

Pvp with pre-made characters and you get to pick and choose. Some can be team locked so for example If you want op Rhea you need Seteth and flayn.

One time in fates, I had gone up against a team that said free win and I got a free female Corrin who was so Op I got to get the child units at level 8. So long as you didn't attack their units they would let you just get to the end so

Nintendo games tend to have alot of cheaters. The Pokemon community has been trying to deal with them for almost a decade

At least Pokemon's anti cheat does a good job of filtering out the actual illegal moves/abilities/whatever. Hell, it's strict enough about it that a lot of event-exclusive Pokemon get blocked by it on their release date. The only cheating problem there is is people who don't want to wrangle the RNG for countless hours just to make one team for a metagame that readily makes extreme shifts within series, let alone between them, because they have a day job, and so just make up otherwise fully legal Pokemon on the spot. It's like if the extent of hackers in Splatoon 1 these days was just rigging the RNG for gear pures, as opposed to infinite bomb spam and instant full map ink coverage button battles until everyone's Wii U crashes from the strain.

I can attest to this. I knew a person who I didn’t know did this in ALL PvP games. I got goaded into playing against him and he threw out a team that had nothing but 99 in all stats and multiple Regalia weapons. Claimed it was fair since he did ‘secret’ quests. Obviously, I left and he spent the rest of the time bragging about being ‘undefeated’. I don’t talk to him anymore after that.

Dont know why its not a pool of points in which you can buy your units with, like in total war mp. Surely you can put some of your fav heroed in there, but not grind your own units and stats in there...
