My 9 year old twin girls and me have just started playing this recently. We play via cloud gaming on xbox PC. It's great fun as a team .though we get owned on pvp. Just watched this and one said we need that guy on our team 😂

The only thing I think you glossed over was using block movement to actually fight with instead of getting around someone pinning you in. For instance you can jump in any direction (forward, backward, and side to side) while holding block. I have seen swordsmen use that strafe mechanic to dodge a shot or sword swing then do their own lunge and counter WITHOUT getting hit. They hold their block, other pirate shoots at them, they jump to the side, then lunge right at them while they are reloading. Same thing with lunges. You can't block a lunge but you can strafe out of a lunge.

What I like about this type of video is Green, Deathknight, and Isaac are there to help fill in the blanks. That "Attack Priority" is a big tip that I forgot about. I call the sword hop the "Sword DODGE" since it actually gives you I-Frames. It's hard to time but I think it lets you dodge bullets. I call the sword hop + Jump "bunny hopping" since it kind of resembles that. Now the video critique. It's hard to say which style I like better. I actually really love your "HOW to BECOME a SWORD LORD" video. The comedy RP feel matches SoT wackiness. I re-watch that one on occasion because there is something about it I find very entertaining. Using that video as a comparison. This style is good as well because it is Twitch Hitbo doing pirate science, almost like a podcast. Whereas the older video feels like KZbin Cursed Captain Hitbo, if that makes any sense. This new video is more informative but runs much longer than the older video. The time and funny editing of the older video is perfect.

I've seen hitbo do this. A sword lunge aimed low to the ground can take out kegger skeletons without blowing them up. That has helped me do forts without blowing up most rounds.

Something I notice is blocking before doing the regular 3 strike attack will give you a little speed. It helps if people are jumping backwards on the tight shipspace.

Great tips and super helpful. Unfortunately when going against sweats sword is just not effective, youll just get 2 tapped before you can even think about getting close enough to do anything with the sword.

@ThMindFdr I say sweaty because most players that aren't sweaty aren't going to 2 tap you every time, you could easily get into a sword range situation against a casual person that is using two guns. The sweats however, your getting 2 tapped every time.

Vanilla sword was the best version of it. Back when you could aim at the ground or the side of the boat to slash it and keep the combo going.

Just started the game ps5 player, can I carry over my safer seas stuff to high seas once got the hang and found my feet or is high seas and safer seas to separate “saves” and have to start from scratch?

Everything you do on your pirate stays. Safer Seas just has soft and hard caps on the content you can experience and the rewards.

RARE needs to make the blocking lunge mechanics the standard mechanics. I don’t understand why new players need to be taught this trick to unlock the sword’s potential. Once you know about it there’s no reason to ever do the standard lunge again.

so been playing with crossplay off on ps5 boy they have some of the biggest cowards I've seen they will only attack when you are sitting still after you spawn in and hit the ship to sink it then run and if you find them again and chase them they scuttle their ship or go off the map. like if you wanna pick a fight stick around to fight. all Ps5 players who do this you are cowards and need to leave the game or grow up and get good vs running like you do.
