you can use these premium plants if you go to surviving mode(生存模式) -> surviving: traveling（生存：旅行）. In this mode, we have total 15 stages, each scene (day,night,pool,fog,roof) have 3 stages, after you finish one stage, you can choose to get one buff, some of the buff will happen on the premium plants (like obsidian tallnut can be healed by ice shroom effect with 10000HP and by jalapeno effect with full HP), some of the buff will happen on general, like reduce 50% cold time for gloves, spawn MJ Zomboni for each lane at the beginning(You see this on this video so what you played is the free-trail version for the real mode, in free-trail version you have all the general buff and premium plant buff). After you complete 3 stages, you will unlock a strong premium plant. Yes at the beginning you can not use the strong premium plants and you have to unlock them. Currently the strong premium plants are , Garlic melon-cabbage-kernel pult, Cherry gatlin pea shooter, jalapeno squash torchwood, Cherry Chomper, ice-doom-hypon fume-shroom, ultimate starfruit, ice-doom gloom-shroom, obsidian tallnut, ice-doom cannon. You can use other premium plants at the beginning (we call week premium plants). I know you will have some trouble on reading the buff because it’s all in Chinese, if you want I can help you because I am Chinese but you will really enjoy this mode after you figure out everything.

It's pretty fun, it's also a roguelike-ish experience because you have to pull for tags Otherwise I'd say try the mini games, some of them can be quite fun

BTW the Ultimate Cherry Gatling seems to be either quite resistant or simply immune to enemy cherry bomb peas. Even that angry Cherry Gatling Newspaper zombie didn't wipe it out.
