i was looking up carb rebuild kits , and found entire carb for cheaper. lol. These bikes are soo cheap i decided to just freshen up the whole bike. I got a new carb , filter , entire top end with piston seals bearings cylinder and head , for less than $150 shipped.

Thank you! Great video - So do you recommend using a rebuild kit like ALL BALLS or is it enough to just clean it?
@poorfarm-nn6ii Жыл бұрын
You can use a kit. As long as the metal and brass isn’t deteriorated and you can clean it sufficiently then I just reuse mine. Almost never do I get a rebuild kit.

Great video…. Did everything word for word (I think)…. Turn on fuel, leaks like crazy coming out of overflow line. Starts with choke only, otherwise shuts down when choke off. Switch to “run” and bike revs high.
@poorfarm-nn6ii2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like your float valve or seat have some debris in them. When you first out fuel to it, tap the carb with a screw driver till it fills up. But your carb is overflowing.

Rafael S I don’t. I did replace the rear shocks on it with some I had. My son broke the originals. But I have never done anything with the front forks. Sorry I couldn’t help ya. Thanks for watching the video.

Great video and info!!! I do have a question you mention you pre-mix your gas and oil at what ratio do you pre-mix it at? I recently installed a Wiseco piston I installed a rev plate under the cylinder had the cylinder worked 20over I believe installed boyesen reeds and new crank seals. My last question is did you do any JETING to the carb? If so what works best for you? As far as jet size?? Again great video and Thank you sir!!👍💯

It’s stock jetting. And I run 50:1 premix. My buddies at the Yamaha shop said that’s what to run.

Good video. I've also replaced the oil pump with a plug. What did you use to seal the port hole on the carb?
@poorfarm-nn6ii4 жыл бұрын
ampini212 I used a bit of silicone and let it dry good. That way if I should wanna fix it and go back to oil pump I don’t have something hard on there to remove. There is basically no suction there and the silicone will last basically forever unless you get a lot of carb/choke cleaner on it for a long period of time or something. Thanks for the view!! Hope it helped.

@@poorfarm-nn6ii thanks, man. It actually just dawned on me that I hadn't plugged that opening until I was watching you video that I realized the reason it would start. Plugged a pencil eraser over it and boom, fires right up. I'll definitely use the silicon for the long term. Thanks again

How did you eliminate the oil pump? Did you block it off from the tank or did you actually remove the whole pump?
@poorfarm-nn6ii3 жыл бұрын
The inlet to the carb was broke. Just plugged the inlet into the carb with some silicone and drained the tank.

Just got a 05 pw50..been sitting for few years, installed new plug,new air filter, gas tank, lines and carb..all it wants to do is a low idle and cut off when throttle is engaged..any ideas?
@poorfarm-nn6ii2 жыл бұрын
Are you switching it to run after start? It won’t take throttle on start has to be switched to run right after starting.
@poorfarm-nn6ii2 жыл бұрын
Did you clean the carb or replace the carb? If you bought a replacement it may need to be tuned. If it is the original carb and you cleaned it, and you are switching it over to run and still only idle die when you touch the throttle, then. You have a jet or venturi tube clogged and just need to clean carb again.

What didn’t I take apart? And if you want to replace the entire card then you’re going to want to buy another carb take the existing carb off and put the new carb on.

@poorfarm-nn6ii4 жыл бұрын
Damian Bolton I read there are some differences in the carb and oil injection. Not sure what those differences are. I’ve never seen any of them around me. Bought this pw for 350 bucks because a guy thought the kick start was broken. Been a great bike.

I got a 97 pw50 2 stroke and I can get it to idle but not have an throttle response. Pretty much all of the parts are new and I've checked everything I can. Any ideas? Here is a link of what it is doing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4bbXmqfpZpgZ80 It has a 60cc big bore kit, new wiring harness, exhaust, carb, spark plug, stator, kill switch, coil, air filter element, fuel filter. It has good compression, it's getting gas, no exhaust restriction (it's off in the video), I've tested the switch and I get good readings when I should and OL on my meter when I should. I'm totally stumped although there can't be anything left to try that I can think of.
@poorfarm-nn6ii3 жыл бұрын
Is your throttle cable actually opening the carb slide? Pull air box and make sure you cable is pulling the slide and not just the spring. Doesn’t seem to change anything about how it runs when you twist the throttle. If it’s moving then I’d check the main jet for a clog. Also make sure you adjust the slack out of your throttle cable so that it only has a tiny bit of play before it pulls the slide.
