the metal you want to coat (1st metal) on the another metal (2nd metal) will be putted on *negative terminal* of the battery and the metal in which the first metal you want to coat will be putted on *positive terminal*

We use 2 different copper plates 1st is dirty (on which we have to coat) and 2nd is new(fine)plate(from which we have to coat) we do it like that to make the 1st copper good.
