I didn’t even knew that I was looking for this synth until I watch this video.

Great video! I notice that you're holding the joystick down to stay in 'hold' mode when the arp is on. Note from the programmer: the joystick is also a push switch that will make the hold mode latch :)

Makes sense with eurorack to have one of these instead of additional cv and gate modules that cost more and dont provide a keyboard with cv outs etc. Very cool
@limbicbits3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. But only if you dig the sound. If not, a Keystep 37 might be a better choice.

@@limbicbits It sounds ace, I'm taking that as a given!

I have a few mono synths, matrixbrute, DSI Pro 2, 2600, analogue solutions Ample, and others Thad for mono. None of them sound like this. Your patches are tasty and ready for Dark Core. I’m getting it now, thanks a lot now I’m more poor haha

I would love to hear this one paired with the erica zen delay. Awesome Demo as usual. :)

Thanks! Yes, these should go well together. Although maybe even a bit too much dirt

Thanks for the feedback. :)) Im doing Synth-punk so it's difficult to have too much dirt.

I want one of these. Wish it had full size keys tho. I'd pay more for a version with a full size, 3 octave keyboard.

Nice demo. What filter/oscillator chips is it based on?
@limbicbits3 жыл бұрын
Just from the sound I'd say it could be inspired by a Steiner Sallen & Key or a Wasp filter. Especially at high resonances it drifts quickly into chaos which behaves a lot like an old WASP module I had in my Euroack modular system.
@ChromosomeSyndicate3 жыл бұрын
It sounds very waspy yes i love it . Special the growl sounds in your demo the other silky trancy stuff i don't like
@chancemeeting28493 жыл бұрын
Finally a decent demo of this synth. Not sure about the squirrely filter resonance, but I like a number of things about this synth. Also, I think this is the second Haus Arafna reference I've seen in one of your demos. Respect.
@ChromosomeSyndicate3 жыл бұрын
What is wrong about the filter ? This is for me the reason i gonna buy this synth the grawwwwl
@chancemeeting28493 жыл бұрын
@@ChromosomeSyndicate Not "wrong," just preferences. The filter cutoff frequency squirms around at high resonance values like the Wasp and Polivoks, and unlike the MS-20. I prefer the MS-20 character which also has a mean growl though the cutoff frequency doesn't squirm around at high res values.

I like the concept but it needs to start with basic things I expect to see, like LFO having random that is syncable and triggerable so you could do S&H patches. LFO should probably have noise and sine as well. This is an instant no buy, but if it had this and also an 8 step sequencer going across where the green stripe is, I would probably get one.
@limbicbits3 жыл бұрын
I could live without most of the things you've mentioned as you could use external utilities to add them (like a step sequencer, e.g. - also the internal arp is quite ok). But what I've really missed are LFO CV and Reset inputs.

How is the synth build quality ?
@limbicbits3 жыл бұрын
Depends. The chassis and keys (albeit minikeys) are ok, so are the patch sockets. But the knobs feel quite wobbly which makes it sometimes hard to do exact sound programming, especially when fine-tuning nuances in audible FM or vca modulations. I've seen better quality at lower prices. But the envelopes are good, the Filter sounds interesting, Oscillator shaping is cool, and I found it quite refreshing so see not yet another Moog, SCI, or Roland Clone.

right? Just get eight malevolents and polystack them. The rest will be fixed in the mix.
