@@mem1001953 No institution issues any degree or certificate on being a ustad. However, we have many ustads to compare with him. He has a long way to go for being called ustad.

@@KhalidChandio Hamid Ali Khan is already a Ustad. Majority of people have commented very positively. You are in freedom to like him or otherwise. Since you have not given a certificate of he being a Ustad you need not recognize it too. I noted your other views. No fixed way exists to be called as Ustad. But some gharanas demand at least seniors up to 3 generations must have been Ustads. But this practice is now dead. You are ware that for one to be called an Ustaad is to put sincere effort (learning / practice) of 6-8 hrs a day for at least couple of decades or more… and then ability to produce few disciples. Also, one who has 'A' grade of AIR will be rendered as in Indian classical music Pandit after the age of 35. Thanks

With all due respect, this is a mere shadow of Ustad Fateh Ali Khan's exposition of this raag. None of the modern successors of this famous gharana have the sadhana that their forefathers showed, sorry to say. We are so starved that we will clap at anything now a days.
