Ahhh! That table layout is gorgeous! ✨🌺It's a bummer they dropped the ball on the artist alley like that. Bright side is it provided valuable experience you probably would not have been able to obtain any other way. Life is silly like that sometimes.

Even though the con didn’t go as well as you’d hoped I’m glad to see you were able to bond with the other artists there and trade or buy from them! I feel like that’s one of the best parts of doing a con! 💗

Having markets that don't pan out is so tough because of all the physical labor, I totally feel that. I've had a few this summer that were complete busts and it was a little hard to stay optimistic about all the energy wasted haha

What a shame that they didn't take care of their artists. The artists are the main reason I go to cons. I'm glad the other artists were pleasant, at least. What was the uncomfortable interactions you had? You probably don't want to talk about them, but I'm snooping, lol.

It's disheartening that it didn't go as planned, but it's a great silver lining to see artists trading and bonding over a shared bad experience. I hope your next con makes up for this one! ✨

What I learnt about markets and such, is to never expect anything unless the people who arrange it promise anything special! I’ve been to/heard about a lot of markets with few customers, and unless you pay a lot to stand there, you have to do the labour yourself because nobody else is paid to do it. But I would expect something else from a convention ://

Thank you for being real Pypah! I think this video is really inspiring, because it shows that even the greatest of artists can have really bad days. I know the feeling of going to a con and selling almost nothing, it is truly disheartening. But it it serves you any good, know that I would've been so happy to be able to meet you and to get a ton of your wonderful art to treasure and display (if i lived anywhere near the UK haha)

I want to thank you for sharing your experience. I participated in an art show just this past weekend and got home yesterday. My experience was very similar to yours. Very disappointing. I will point out I learned alot thankfully, but I do think the energy of the organizers can set the tone for the show. The organizer was someone I had worked with before and was a very kind person, and I really enjoyed working with him after having a very successful show previous to the show yesterday. But for some reason he was in a very bad mood for this most recent show. We are all human and we all have bad days so I don't blame or judge him for this. But I do think this is why the show turned sour for us.

Yep i can feel your pain there, ive been to my fair few of bad shows, only ever done 1 comic con and that was a disaster paid £85 for the day sold nothing and everyone just ignored the artists, Finding the right show can be really hard and staying possitives hard to.

U probably know this - but just in case this helps when I worked retail and organized for inventory I always grouped things in baggies or tie them together (for example groups of 10) - easier to keep track/count the inventory.

Interaction with customers usually make more sales. I went to an anime convention recently & most of the artists were on their iPads drawing ✍️ So I usually walk away.

I'm glad you made some money on the first day, but I wish they could have done better for the Artist Alley. Also, the character from demon slayer that changes designs 🎨 is holographic. But I do love the artist's work.
