Pyramid Base Grinder Stand - Building a Bench Grinder Stand!

This video features construction of a pyramid base base stand for an 8" bench grinder. The pyramid shape looks good and helps the grit to go the floor where it's easily swept up. Not on the bench. Drills, plasma cutter and mig welder are utilized to to build the stand from 1/4" plate and a round tube. Sits on adjustable feet to always be wobble free.

A grinder and paint make a welder what he aint! Awesome design! Any thought to mounting the grinder on springs to reduce vibrations?

Grinder and paint, and bondo for the inside corners!! The bench grinder itself has four rubber feet and runs pretty smooth. The two bolts just hold it in place. Thanks for the comment !!!

When you use it do your toes hit the base?

No, but I often put one foot partially on the base. That's about the right position a lot of the time. Depends what you're up to, of course.

It sounds like you think his welding skills are unacceptable. What makes you think that? The base he built (welds and design) is far superior to ANY manufactured base. I hate how some welders get so nit picky about other people's welds. I find it's usually the ones that are sub par themselves that are the most critical.
