Thanks for the review, Wade! Looks like a great day on the water, and love that stern stall paddle bounce move! haha! BTW, blue buckle on the back of the backrest will allow you to tighten that backrest up a little more, if you like.

Was that raft guide saying something at 7:30?
@WadeHarrison4 жыл бұрын
I where ear plugs most time when I’m slice boating so couldn’t make it out. I know a lot of raft guides hate me because I’m goofing around so much and having to much fun with the customers and raft bumping the customers love it they always give me high fives and laughing but most of the guides on the Ocoee are always angry about something maybe just life and I’m a easy guy to not like I get it so yeah he was upset about that bump and complained more down stream to me but it’s all good I probably got him a bigger tip

Totally agree about the knee pad being too small. Sticky backed foam is provided, and does help. But often my knee ends up hitting right on the edge of the pad and it hurts. I ended up moving my thigh braces all the way back to get pad behind my knee. Dagger, Jackson, Waka, and LL all have plenty of padding so your knee is on padding all the time. No idea why Pyranha makes theirs so tiny. 🤷🏼♂️
@WadeHarrison3 жыл бұрын
It’s crazy small details like that Pyranha misses? It’s such a easy fix right out the factory like you said JK LL dagger Waka all just put a pad there never a issue with those at all
@brentwade9346 Жыл бұрын
I tried mine back, but now I have the nuts on the front of the braces digging into both of my knees. I also find my ass slides around in this boat, but that said being said I love this boat so far - gonna do Wade's backband hack today and work some more on the outfitting so it's ready for the park this weekend. I sold my Project X and bought this since I'm not a spud boater at all, but now I wish I'd have kept it and found a way to swap the outfitting into the Ozone ;-)
@brentwade9346 Жыл бұрын
Added the thigh hookers, and ran some velcro in the knee area to add extra foam and pad over the forward nuts from the knee braces - did the backstrap re-route and also put velcro straps on the bottom of the hip pad pockets to lock them in place better - boat fits like a glove now.

I got to try a friend's medium the other week. It was squirrely as heck, but so much fun. As I told others, it kicked my butt all down the river, but it was the most fun butt kicking I have had. Having said that, I am about 195 lbs with no gear. So, I don't realistically think the medium would be a good boat for me if I had to put anything in it. My concern is that the large would be too big and lose all that made the medium so fun. Unfortunately, there is no large I can try out. What are your thoughts on that? For, what it is worth, I have a Z.One and a Necky Orbit Fish, so I figure this kind of slots in between those.

Took one out on some flat water just to kick it around. It was so tippy for me that I flipped it just messing around. A little harder to complete the roll than a fuller volume boat. Not the boat for me. I can't handle the narrowness. I wish the made and X large wider and more volume. I can't see me being able to go downriver in this boat.

How does it compare to a Jackson 2010 4 Fun? It looks like it is intended to fulfill the same purpose.
@WadeHarrison3 жыл бұрын
dam that's a throwback its been awhile since I paddled a FUN and I do remember it was a pretty good boat I think its way less aggressive the Ozone the ozone is more of a aggressive down river 3/4 slice boat the FUN is more of a well rounded river runner that has some play built in
@harryfettes3933 жыл бұрын
@@WadeHarrison there was a few versions of the Fun. The 2010 is the one that most closely resembles the stars. My all time favourite boat. I've got 2 of them ( like hens teeth in Scotland). My 15 year old prodigy who's been WW kayaking since age 4 has the Fun, he's 6' 150 pounds and he can flatwater cartwheel and macho move it like a promo video. ( I taught him everything he knows but I've forgotten how, getting old 🤥).
Just picked up an Ozone never having had any type of slicey boat it’s “twitchiness” is hard to get used to(my other boat is a Wavesport Phoenix so chalk and cheese)
