In this video, Part 3 into the Pyro for Beginners mini series, I start to get in depth on the Pyro Solver node. The Pyro Solver node is the heart of the whole Pyro simulation. It takes all the smoke emitter and parameters that we feed into the Pyro Solver and generates the the smoke visual effects. In this video, I take a look at each parameter on the Simulation tab of the Pyro Solver one by one, giving visual examples for each parameter.

My Blog usually contains shorter tutorials that aren't really worth making a video on or sometimes if I want to release a tutorial earlier I would post it on my blog, simply because making videos take a lot of time.

It's clear there was tremendous effort put into editing this tutorial down, keeping information as clear and concise as possible, and not wasting any time. Head and shoulders above soooo many other tutorials I've watched. Thank you!

Is there already a third part? Cause I wasn't able to find it on the channel. Love the series so far and I would really need the rendering part because that's where I struggle the most rn. Everything is so blurry in my render - would be cool to see the last part.

I'm so sorry, I was really procrastinating the next part of this series and Houdini already released a new set of Pyro SOP tools making this DOPNET method a little dated. I am currently working a new way of teaching with mini-series focused on particular topics. So far I've got Cross Product, KineFX, & Cinematic Destruction, which is rbd (in progress). I am planning on slowly making it to Pyro as well. Sorry for the delay! Thank you for the patience!

Thank you so much. Waiting for this for a really long time. Also, i have a request for a tutorial about flip sim combine with infinite ocean. In your video in which you showed flowing river with flip sim, you told that ocean and flip sim are combined to get beat of flip sim interaction and ocean tool speed. So can you make a tutorial on this, like a simple cube or a cool looking ship emerges from bottom of a infinite ocean?
@bubblepins
@bubblepins 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that one is on the list! So sorry this pyro series took so long to get out. Thanks for everyone's patience! Thanks for reminding me, I was just looking at my list to decide what to do next for the next tutorials. I think that's a good idea, with a ghost ship or something emerging from the bottom of the ocean! This can show the FLIP collisions and also demonstrate how to combine ocean tools with flip.

Thank you very much for sharing a very detailed tutorial. I am wondering that if I wanna make a missile launching sense from a fight , how can I make the fire and smoke follow with the missile.
@bubblepins
@bubblepins 3 жыл бұрын
You need to transfer the velocity from the missile onto the fire and smoke. You can create a velocity vector field from the motion of the missile and then use that to guide the fire and smoke using one of the "advect" nodes inside the dopnet. This will use the velocity field from the missile and try to guide the smoke and fire sim using the advect node. I've been planning on doing a tutorial on this, it's on the list, but the videos take awhile to produce. Stay tuned!

@@wilywen183 The velocity transfer tutorial should come soon to the Membership, I've been building up this Procedural City mini series and I'm hoping to drive a car around the city and use it for as an animated collision geometry in order to cause collision with water on the ground & smoke from sewage drains & destruction onto the buildings. Stay tuned!

@@bubblepins How to change color?
@bubblepins
@bubblepins 2 жыл бұрын
@@georgesebastian9859 there's actually a few ways to do it! The method I like the best is using the "Volume Visualization" node on the SOPS, this is able to render volumes directly on the viewport at very nice quality! But requires a lot of tweaking parameters on the viewport settings. But if you tune it right, you can get REALLY nice results, so I highly recommend this! Check out a post I did before with a pic of the volume rendered in the viewport with this node: instagram.com/p/CD5kRb3n_bC/ Then if you're using mantra, just drop down a volume material and there should be a parameter called smoke color. If you're using Redshift, because I haven't used Redshift in a very long time, I can't remember exactly what that parameter is called anymore, but there should be a similar color parameter inside the Redshift Volume Material. Hope that helps!

Sorry I don't think I ever got around to finish the last part of this Pyro. By the time I wanted to circle back to Pyro, sidefx already came out with Pyro sops and karma. I am working on a new video for Pyro sops, flip sops, rbd sops, basically all the sim sop tools in houdini cuz I find if u know one, u kind of know almost all others. But it's still in the works and it will take awhile before it gets released. Stay tuned!
