That's cool that it works that way. I went to Pyro for the first time with my daughter last night, just to explore. We landed at, I think, a Citizens for Prosperity outpost on bloom. As we were looking around, we started to hear gunfire so we made a run back to our shop, only to get stuck in a crossfire in a doorway. The NPC guard went down, but whoever was shooting went off to attack something else. I tried to grab the rifle the guard dropped but fell through the planet. My daughter was able to make it back to the ship and take off though, and we had a Nursa in the hold so I could respawn. Overall, it was a great first impression from the jump point to all the different ominous music. I'm not sure if the firefight was other players attacking the outpost or some kind of NPC raid, but either way, it was very tense.

I've said this time and time again... Lawless doesn't mean anarchy. It means no UEE. I think once the murderhobo type of PvP players start to see that THIS is how this is supposed to work... that the factions WILL enforce order... I think the game will be better for it. Once the full reputation system and the law and order systems come into the game, the nature of "PvP" will change dramatically.

This is why I keep telling people not to panic about Pyro. We're gonna have the appropriate systems in place eventually to handle these things, so just let the murder hobos have their fun for now is how I look at it

Yes, and it's very good this security behavior is already working, otherwise we'd have to suffer for a quarter or two incessants "this is a full PK PvP system Everywhere" bs

It wont. Itll make your settlements for your faction a bit more secure. But it wont stop headhunters aligned players from decimating people who are landed at citizens for prosperity settlements etc. Anyone expecting pyro to be safe and npcs to fully protect them is delusional.

@@Sypheara nobody's expecting Pyro to be a 100 percent safe system. People DO expect that CIG will make some concessions to allow PVE players to experience Pyro without getting completely annihilated every time they go there. Also, did you read the Jump Point magazine this month? Seems to me like Pyro is getting a Private security force called Frontier Fighters, partially consisting of players and partially consisting of NPC's.

Pyro was IMO only ever intended to be null-sec originally. Back when the only population center in the entire system was Ruin Station, there were no other space stations, and the only people in the system were the gangs fighting for control of Ruin. When they changed things up to have a higher population across the system with more factions that were incompatible with the gang-war idea for Ruin station, and more stations were added, the possibility of it being null-sec is simply gone. Null-sec systems are going to be ones where there's essentially no human presence whatsoever. Systems with no presence whatsoever are going to be very few and very far between, and Pyro is not among them. It simply isn't practical, be it in lore or in game for gangs to allow people to just do whatever they want without consequences. Ultimately, everybody needs to eat, drink, and be able to maintain shelter, and so generally speaking, while there might be frequent raiding from opposing factions, they wouldn't take kindly to supply ships being attacked. Some longer-standing gangs in this situation would very likely have an informal agreement not to target each other's supply ships, simply because it opens the door for their own supply ships to be attacked and wind up with them getting cut off. Not that there would be no room for raiding or hostilities, but they would be a little less common and a little more formal and organized than one might expect from gangs. The harsh living conditions, ample space to allow each other to pass, and implications involved with starting an open conflict in Pyro necessitate that the gangs in pyro, even if hostile with each other, aren't always kill on sight, and are protective of their assets and willing to implement security measures for those who might be visiting. Pyro would be a low-sec system, not a null-sec.

Thank you. Agreed. More people need to understand this about Pyro. This parroting of EVE 'null-sec' needs to stop.
@TheEveryDayC
@TheEveryDayC 19 күн бұрын
@@ephalanx1 Honestly, there are very few star systems that have been described or noted in lore or in the starmap that would qualify for being a true null-sec system. I reckon in reality, we won't see true null-sec systems until we are able to find and chart jump points to undiscovered star systems.

I think, of course, the confusion always comes down to the understanding of what it means that there is no central authority. A lack of central authority does not mean NO authority. "Lawless" does not mean anarchy. As long as there is any group in a system that exerts any amount of control over a territory, there is authority. I think it's more a certain breed of player rather than CIG that's caused this confusion. Some players just latch onto one or two things CIG says, and ignores all the rest. CIG to its discredit says a LOT of stuff about what they want to do, and distilling any real meaning out of that takes a bit of interpretation. But you can't do this ignoring the bulk of what is said. Pyro is going to be dangerous. Always. Systems with no central lawful authority always will be. But no UEE doesn't mean free-for-all.

Pirates are not just murderer, PvP is not just griefing. Its a lawless system, in the moment, but that does not mean, that everyone who wants to explore Pyro wants to do PvP. If you want PvP go to contested zones, if you dare. Pirates interdicted you in Stanton and demanded money depending on the worth of your cargo. Griefing cowards are camping behind a stone and waiting for someone to shoot in the back and declare it pvp and/or piracy. That is so uninspiring and unimaginative to use Pyro in this way.

Getting pirated is a risk and adds excitement, gameplay and important risk/reward trade offs to some of the industrial loops. Getting killed for no reason when coming to a landing zone just because people want to shoot something just makes an already often tedious game more tedious.

Good. This is *exactly* what I was looking for. Lawless just means not under UEE authority and protection. It doesn't mean total anarchy. The gangs rule here, and like any ruling group in an area, they would have zero tolerance for ANY hostile behaviour by anyone at their settlements unless ordered by them directly. At least now, people can actually step outside their ship and explore these beautiful hand crafted settlements without their defenceless and unmanned ships getting blasted by some rando with zero repercussions. There's no point in creating content if no one can actually explore it, right?

it one thing to go after a group but if you are teaming up on solo player that just worng. Im not saying dont pvp but thaere is a fine line beteew pvp and being a bully. Also AZone will never go away. this is do to tolls killing player in safe places. there NEED to be safe places for pve player to do ther game play with out someone killing them. Yes it cant stop it 100% but if you have a place like pyro you will most likey just pvp there over tolling in Stan. With out AZone the game will die for pve and they make up more of the play base then pvper.

I guess we'll see a re-implementation of Stanton security at some point. I remember years ago, when they added NPC freighters, and NPC security response, and none of it functioned properly due to server performance. We might even see the end of NPCs on chairs, now server FPS is sorted.

lol I love the political infantilism of most people. Just because the UEE is not present doesn’t mean that PYRO is “lawless” aka Anarchy. The gangs should be viewed as proto-governing bodies and they sure as hell are going to have rules…

It's non UEE controlled -It's not purely lawless. It's faction (gangs - mafia state) enforced law. What you are talking about is anarchy. No one would live there if it was. And Pyro has changed since it original inception. There were no space stations there other than Ruin before it was fleshed out further. The planets were incapable of sustaining life and mostly barren. That has changed. While players in the area feel like they are unfettered by 'laws', just because its not Stanton UEE law the NPC's that live within the simulation have faction based laws they follow. If you don't they will let you know about it. And your idea of fun is subjective... This game is more simulation than your standard shoot em up games. So you don't get to do whatever without consequence. And why you got to belittle others? Whiny and crying? Jokes? Because they voice concerns just like the PvP crowd does about MM and PvEers not wanting to fight with them? Come on man..do better. You may not like their playstyle, but they don't deserved to be nosed down on. Same with PvPers. Oh and Merry Christmas! o7
