I live here in Florida and he is such an amazing work dog..I just love him..He has got some great skills. I do not want anything to happen to him.. How do you keep him safe? Areas we iguana hunt rarely have gators because of how residential it is, but with that being said it is definitely always a concern and something I’m constantly looking out for. But my hog dogs have a much greater chance of getting gator ate than Otto believe it or not.

With the noise of the boat and all the talking and commotion going on the majority of wild gators will leave the area, and that is the main reason they made it illegal to feed wild gators because once humans start feeding them the gators then see humans as a food source so then instead of running away from human activity they come to it. But, during the month of May and June it can get tricky because it's the gator mating season and they can become very territorial over a certain body of water.

Love these videos and Otto but his energy is exhausting. Then again my Jack Russell still has that energy sometimes even at 12 years old. I also worry about Gators getting Otto. I live an hour NW of ATL and strangely there have been gators this far North which is unbelievable. I guess they saw the Armadillos make it this far North and figured they could do it too. Or were pets that were released and just didn't die from the winters since we don't really have winters like we had up until the late 90's. Growing up I saw Armadillos at my grandmother's in St. Augustine, FL but the first time I saw one here was around 2001 and I just couldn't believe my eyes. I have taken out 7 at my house the past 6 months. Just hope the pythons don't come this far North.

The first video of yours I saw was of a golf course shoot and you had gotten one nearly this large with the black striped tail but it was nearly all deep orange. Just beautiful. Is it just random coloring patterns or are there sub species?
